Medicalliance Inc. has selected Eleanor O'Rangers as vice president of scientific strategy and business development for the subsidiary of Columbia MedCom Group, the Howard County-based medical communications agency. Banking and finance Chesapeake Bank of Maryland appointed Tom Ahearn as senior vice president and chief lending officer, Joanne Sheckells as vice president for residential and commercial lending and Tracey Jessilonis as manager of the Baltimore-based bank's Pasadena branch.

Renee Joyner has been named director of nursing at Baltimore's Keswick Multi-Care Center. Joyner will oversee all aspects of the facility's nursing services department. Previously, she spent eight years at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Baltimore as both the director of resident care services and director of nursing. Joyner earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Notre Dame and a nursing degree from the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing. W. Brian McGowan, senior vice president of administration at W.R. Grace, has been elected chair of the Howard County General Hospital's board of trustees.

McGowan is hospital's chairman of the board Howard County General Hospital has announced that W. Brian McGowan, senior vice president of administration at W.R. Grace, has been elected chairman of the hospital's board of trustees. The hospital is part of Johns Hopkins Medicine. He succeeds Beverly White-Seals, assistant general counsel of General Growth Properties Inc., who chaired the board since 2005. Harry Lundy, president and chief executive officer of Williamsburg Group LLC, will serve as vice chairman, and Ann B. Mech, coordinator of legal affairs for the University of Maryland School of Nursing, will be secretary.

Appletree gets 2nd term at ACS Roy Appletree, a Columbia resident and executive director of FIRN (Foreign-born Information & Referral Network), has been named president of the board of directors of the Association of Community Services for a second term. Rene Buckman, executive director of the Columbia Teen Center, is to be vice president of the ACS, and Dave Michener, executive pastor of Church Ministries at Bridgeway Community Church, is secretary of the ACS board. Jay Herbert Blackman, senior vice president of Operations at Howard County General Hospital, will serve as the board's treasurer for a second term.

With its financial performance and stock price sagging, two top executives abruptly resigned from Glenn Dale-based TVI Corp. and the company's board named two of its directors to fill their spots, the company announced yesterday. Richard Priddy, who was TVI's president, chief executive officer and member of the board, and Charles Sample, who was the executive vice president and a board member, resigned effective immediately, the company said. Replacing them are Lt. Gen. Harley Hughes as interim president and CEO and Don Yount as interim senior vice president and chief operating officer.
