Is it that unreasonable of me not to download Ke$ha's song "Your Love is My Drug" for my 7-year-old daughter? A song that says she won't listen to her mother, that she's addicted and that she's like a crackhead? Because my daughter is devastated. So devastated she didn't want me to read to her at bedtime, didn't want her normal back scratching and didn't even want the other Ke$ha song or the Selena Gomez song that I did download for her. (So sorry those won't be in heavy rotation in my house after all. I swear Selena's "na na na's" are just digitally looped over and over.)

For the first time, there will be craft beer at the Maryland State Fair, which begins Friday at Timonium Fairgrounds.  Raven Beer, Heavy Seas Brewery, DuClaw Brewing, Dog Brewing from Westminster, Brewers Alley and Flying Dog Brewery will all be served at one big booth belonging to the Brewers Association of Maryland. BAM, a trade organization that represents the state's breweries and brewpubs, made the deal to bring the breweries to the fair. The association sees the State Fair as a platform to promote their products and to telegraph that their business "supports local jobs, local farms and local communities," BAM said in a statement.

Parents, prepare to be begged. Victoria Justice, aka Tori Vega on Nickelodeon's popular show "Victorious," will perform at this year's 131st Maryland State Fair. The singer-songwriter-actress will perform Aug. 31, a year after another teen-idol, Selena Gomez, graced the Fair's stage. (Read my review of the Gomez show here .) Country act the Band Perry will perform at the Fair the following day. The State Fair stop will be apart of Justice's "Made in America" summer tour.

Will they or won't they? It's a question that has surrounded Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez - the pre-teen equivalent of Brangelina - for more than a year now. Will they come out as an official couple? Yes. Will they go on vacation together and have their make-out sessions photographed by paparazzi? Of course. But the burning question for Maryland teens and tweens is, will The Biebs show up at Gomez's gig Friday night at the Maryland State Fair? And if so, will they perform together?

The most lively moment of Selena Gomez and the Scene's 80-minute set Friday night came toward the end of its second half. Gomez, the "Wizards of Waverly" star and girlfriend of Justin Bieber, recreated her viral hit, a backstage clip of her rapping along to Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass. " She does a fine rendition, with enough teen swagger to be cute and mischievous at the same time. While the "He might sell coke" line was edited from the video - this is a Disney star, after all - Gomez kept it in Friday.

This week we asked our b staff about the tweaks they would like to make to this past year if given the chance. Here's what they had to say. •••• Donald Trump would be permanently afflicted with laryngitis.  Luke Broadwater, reporter, The Baltimore Sun •••• I'd have wanted fewer people embarrassing themselves (Anthony Weiner, Herman Cain) and more news of people distinguishing themselves. Where were our Sully stories? C'mon, people.  Anne Tallent, editor,  b •••• I would have tried the fried Oreos at the state fair.

John Waters has spoken. The best film of 2013 is "Spring Breakers," which featured "Disney tween starlets" Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens "undulating, snorting cocaine and going to jail in bikinis. " Throw in a drag queen and some dog poop and "Spring Breakers" starts to sound like a film the Baltimore cult director could have made himself. Some of the year's other best movies, Waters tells Artforum magazine, include "Abuse of Weakness" starring Isabelle Huppert, his favorite actress, in "weirdly glamorous orthopedic shoes" and "Blackfish," which he describes as a "whale snuff-film documentary that'll make you root for the kidnapped killer mammal and wish he had eaten alive Sea World's evil owners.

“Super Bass” was a bonus track on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday's deluxe edition, but it shouldn’t have been. It’s an obvious hit, much more potent than a majority of Pink Friday . Nicki and her team must have realized this after the fact, and they’re now making up for it with a wildly stylized video that looks like a comic book come to life. Pink Friday is short on memorable hooks, but “Super Bass” is an exception, with a “boom-da-boom” earworm layered on top of a deceptively busy beat (digital rain drops, pound-the-floor bass, breathy vocal punch-ins)
