Theft charges dropped against school employee Prosecutors dropped a Baltimore District Court case Tuesday against a former public schools employee accused of stealing payroll checks. In July, Latanya Bunch, 37, was charged with three counts of theft over $500 and four counts under $500, but prosecutors declined to prosecute this week. Their reason was not immediately available. Bunch, who worked as a secretary at Reginald F. Lewis High School, says she lost her job over the charges, which she says she's innocent of. This is the second time Bunch has been charged with crimes that prosecutors ultimately dropped.

On Thursday, March 16, 2006, JANE HOWARD SCARBOROUGH, 85, of Wilmington, DE. Born Norhteast, MD, Mrs. Scarborough was the daughter of the late John and Bess Howard. She was a professional dancer, studying ballet, Spanish dancing, tap and ballroom dancing. Early in her career, she performed extensively, but later left the show business to preside over a large ballet school in Bel Air, MD where she taught 13 years. In 1965, she moved to Wilmington and opened "Ecole de Ballet" - a small selective school where all students received individual attention in the art of classical ballet.

The Sykesville Planning Commission has approved revised construction drawings for Scarborough Woods.Approval is contingent on a conservation easement agreement that the developer said will accompany the final drawings.The commission will send its recommendation to the Town Council, which will consider the project at its Monday meeting.Brian Harman plans to build homes on eight 3-acre lots in the Oklahoma Road subdivision at the southwest corner of town.In addition to tree conservation areas, the drawings included a fitness trail for hikers.

Katherine D. Scarborough, a former teacher, genealogist and newspaper columnist who was active in patriotic and historic organizations, died Monday from multiple organ failure at her home in the Edenwald retirement community in Towson. She was 85. Katherine Streett Davis, who was known as Kay, was born and raised at her parent's Geneva Farm in Street. She was a 1942 graduate of Highland High School and earned an associate's degree from St. Mary's College. She attended the University of Baltimore Law School in the late 1940s, and earned a degree in mass communications from Towson State University in 1980.

A teenager was fatally shot early yesterday during an apparent robbery at an apartment in North Baltimore, city police said. Shortly after 1:30 a.m., a 20-year-old man let three men into an apartment in the 500 block of Castle Drive, where he was staying with a 9-year-old child, police said. One of the men produced a handgun, and all three began ransacking the apartment. Police said two other people, including Matthew Scarborough, 16, arrived at the apartment, about a block east of York Road, near the county line.
