Ryan Thompson, of Ellicott City, received the Rhoda K. Roberts Memorial Scholarship in the Vocal Arts at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Thompson is majoring in psychology and international languages and cultures (Spanish) with minors in music, biology and neuroscience. The scholarship was established in 2006 by Karen J. Horton and John J. Roberts to benefit students who demonstrate promise in the vocal arts. The following students have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 quarter at the Savannah College of Art and Design, in Savannah, Ga.: Sean Dooley, of Laurel; Anton Amstad, Lauren Anderson and Jennifer Folsom, all of Ellicott City; Eric Schultz , of Glenwood; Rachel Ackley, of Mount Airy; Andrew Wecht, of Woodbine; Jeffrey Robbins, of Elkridge; and Jamie Deaver, of Eldersburg.

SAVANNAH COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN: Local residents have been named to the Dean's List at the Savannah College of Art and Design for fall quarter 2012. Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the dean's list. Local residents include: Jessalyn Babcock of White Hall; Heather Harvey of Forest Hill; Andrew Lhotsky of Bel Air; Julie Miller of Forest Hill; and Danielle Riseley of Churchville.

Shawn Horsey and Hillary McCarthy , both of Columbia, have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 quarter at the Savannah College of Art and Design, in Savannah, Ga. Sarah Thorne , a senior from Columbia, completed two internships this summer while holding down a summer job, working as a petting farm manager at Clark's Elioak Farm. Her internships were with the USDA Veterinary Services and at the National Aquarium, in Baltimore, as an Aviculturist at the Australia exhibit.

She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in animation. Mary Jordan , of Columbia, has received Faculty Honors for the spring 2011 semester atTrinity College, inHartford, Conn. Lainie Torres , of Columbia, earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Union Institute and University, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Noah Grabisch , of Laurel, graduated with a law degree from Boston College Law School, in Newton, Mass. The following students have been named to the dean's list at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Ga. for fall quarter 2011. Lauren Cahill , Emma Frantz , and Melissa Martinez , of Reisterstown, Maxwell Needleman and Taylor Pollack , of Baltimore. Alexander Neumeier , son of Anna Bryant, of Woodbine, and Michael Neumeier, of Owings Mills, was inducted into the National English Honor Society at Randolph-Macon Academy, Va. The following students have been named to Randolph-Macon Academy's, Va. honor rolls for the first quarter of the 2011-12 school year: Emerson Koerber , the son of Randolph and Angela Koerber of Reisterstown, was named to the dean's list.

Josephine G. Kimbers, who was on the board of the Arena Players and was active in other organizations, died Saturday at Sinai Hospital of congestive heart failure. She was 67.Services for Mrs. Kimbers were being held today at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, 2110 Madison Ave.The former Josephine Gilbert was a native of Royston, Ga., and a graduate of Savannah State College.She moved to Baltimore after her marriage. The Sequoia Avenue resident was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Chi Delta Mu Wives, the Alpha Wives and the Maryland Dental Auxiliary.

Scott Jr. director of enrollment management.Solomon, a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, was formerly vice president of the Cherenson Group.
