CLARIFICATION A concert review in Monday's Today section did not specify who turned off the microphones at the Lil' Wayne and Juelz Santana show Saturday night at the Clarence H. Du Burns Arena. Samuel T. Daniels Jr., the executive director of the city liquor board, ordered the microphones shut down; it was not promoter Ikon Entertainment. It had been a long Saturday night for the audience that filled two-thirds of the Clarence H. Du Burns Arena.

Owning Santana Minnesota Twins left-hander Johan Santana may be baseball's best pitcher. But no one has told Orioles left fielder Jay Gibbons, who sometimes sits out against tough left-handers. Gibbons had two doubles against Santana last night in three at-bats, making him 8-for-15 with five RBIs against the two-time American League Cy Young Award winner. No happy feet Miguel Tejada's bat is ready for the season, but his feet may not be. The Orioles shortstop singled against Santana in his first at-bat and crushed a bases-empty homer in the sixth.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Erik Bedard's walk off the mound was nearly as brisk as manager Sam Perlozzo's trip to get him. Bedard hung his head, fixated on the Metrodome turf all the way until he disappeared into the Orioles' dugout, a potential statement victory for himself and his team in their showdown with Minnesota Twins ace Johan Santana leaving with him. The Orioles knew how improbable beating Santana on his home field was, but there they were in the fourth...

He's considered one of the best young pitchers in the American League. And he's a primary target for the Orioles if they were to trade shortstop Miguel Tejada. But there's a disconcerting trend surrounding Ervin Santana, the Los Angeles Angels' 23-year-old right-hander, in his first 51 major league starts. Santana, who was offered to the Orioles in July along with shortstop prospect Erick Aybar for Tejada, has pitched terribly on the road. Last season, Santana, who won 12 games overall, was 9-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 14 starts at Angel Stadium and 3-5 with a 7.43 ERA in nine starts away from it. This year, he's 9-2 with a 3.17 ERA in 15 starts at home and 5-5 with a 6.39 ERA in 14 road outings.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Brandon Lloyd could sense it nearly from the first time he stepped onto the practice field for the Washington Redskins last spring. As much as he was bonding with new teammates Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El, there was a pervading sense of competition among the receivers. Even though Moss had established himself as Mark Brunell's favorite target last season - in reality his only reliable receiver besides tight end Chris Cooley - Lloyd believed that he and fellow newcomer Randle El were actually fighting with Moss for one of the starting jobs.
