On July 7, 2008, SANDRA KAYE; devoted wife of the late Rev. Benjamin C. Jones, beloved mother of Alphonso and Charlie Culp. Also survived by four grandchildren one great-grandchild, one brother Dennis Davis, four sisters, Gwendolyn Townes, Ruby Davis, Janet McConnell and Martha Massey, two aunts, two uncles, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Jones will lie in-state at the St. Paul Baptist Church, 3101 The Alameda, on Sunday after 3 P.M., where a tribute will begin at 5 P.M. Service of Triumph will begin on Monday with family hour at 10 A.M. and service to follow promptly at 11 A.M. Interment Arbutus Memorial Park.

On December 30, 2003, SANDRA LEIGH ELIZABETH QUINN loving daughter of John and Susan Quinn, Sr. and the late Charlotte Quinn; sister of Susan Ripoli, Cheryl Quinn, Kathleen Shorter, brother John B. Quinn, Jr., Stephanie Mullins and brother Scott Knight; devoted aunt of Jamie, Charlotte, Danielle, David, Emily, Joseph, Jacob, Sara and Ashton. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. She graduated from UMBC in 1989 with a Bachelor's Degree of Mechanical Engineering and worked for the United States Government in Edgewood for 13 years.

On October 18, 2004 SANDRA N. BOROWY (nee Munroe); beloved wife of the late Robert S. Borowy; devoted mother of Robert G. Borowy and his fiancee' Joanna Chino; beloved daughter of Cecelia F. Munroe and the late George T. Munroe; loving sister of Deborah Shifflett, Denise Boyd and Kathleen Denisuk. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home Inc., 1050 York Rd., (Beltway Exit 26A) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. and Thursday from 9 to 10 A.M. at which time a Funeral Service will be held.

On September 6, 2004, SANDRA CAROL CARPENTER (nee Smith), a Child Protective Service Social Worker for 27 years with the State of MD, died at her Perry Hall home of Lymphoma at age 51, beloved wife of Kevin Carpenter, devoted mother of Douglas Carpenter, daughter-in-law of Robert Carpenter, loving sister of David Smith, George Smith and Debra Fillmore. On Saturday, July 15, 2006, SANDRA C. HELTZMAN of Silver Spring, MD; beloved wife of Seymour M. Heltzman; devoted mother of Jay and Darlene Schwartz; loving Bubble of Ryan; dear sister of Leslie Cimino; daughter of the late Phil Harris and Mildred Snyder; and cherished friend of Linda and Howard Rosenberg. Interment services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, at 11 A.M., at Judean Memorial Gardens. 1625 Batchelors Forest Road, Olney, MD. The family will be in mourning at Jay and Darlene Schwartz's residence through Thursday, July 20. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, Holy Cross Hospice or Angels West-MD.

Sandra Leith Merson, a homemaker, died Saturday of cancer at Winchester Medical Center in Virginia. She was 51 and had lived in Highlandtown before moving to Berkeley Springs, W. Va., in 1985. She was an administrative aide at Alex Karas Rolls Royce and Photography on Belair Road. Born Sandra Leith Shock in Rising Sun, she graduated in 1972 from Patapsco High School. In 1975, she married William Henry Merson, who survives her. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs.

Sandra E. Starr, an assistant controller at Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center, died of lung cancer Wednesday at Dove House Hospice in Westminster. The longtime Sykesville resident was 50. Sandra Ellen Schuder was born in Baltimore and raised on Greenspring Avenue. She was a 1975 graduate of Pikesville High School and earned an accounting degree in the 1980s from what is now Towson University. She was employed for 25 years in the accounting department of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. in Woodlawn and Columbia, before going to Turf Valley in 2002.

After a year off the Baltimore TV airwaves, Sandra Pinckney will return today as co-anchor with Keith Cate for the 6 p.m. newscast for WMAR (Channel 2).Lest anyone not know that the longtime former WJZ reporter and anchor now works for the competition, WMAR has been hyping her debut with a big promotional campaign -- including a Sandra Pinckney-themed song set to the "Flintstones" theme. So all of pTC Bedrock, as well as all of Baltimore, has gotten the word."I've been off the air for a year and now, not that gently, but all at once, it's boom!

Sandra Unitas remembers the first six days of grief as if she were a helpless observer. Her husband was dead. It didn't seem possible. She was there but she wasn't. She was devastated, weeping uncontrollably for hours at a time. But she also had a house in Timonium filled with relatives and friends. She had a funeral to organize. Children to comfort. Obligations. Decisions. Finally, she sought help from the man who had always been there for her. "Give me a swift kick in the butt, John," was her unconventional prayer.
