Hober, mother of Sandra Giersch and Kay Sammons (William), grandmother of Gordon Giersch, Suzanne Giersch, Elizabeth Yankle (Brian), and Jill Sammons, preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Baltimore girl, 17, dies in collision; 2 other teens hurt A Baltimore teen-ager was killed and two others were seriously injured in a two-car collision in Brooklyn Park on Monday night, police said yesterday. A southbound car driven by Zachary Philip Brown, 18, was turning left from Ritchie Highway onto Church Street when it collided with a northbound Chevrolet Blazer driven by Gwen Marie Sammons, 18, of Glen Burnie, police said. Sammons' vehicle struck Brown's on the passenger side, where 17-year-old Keri Ann Knott was sitting.

Bankruptcy lawyer John D. Burns plans to fly to London today for a brief vacation he scheduled months ago, figuring that once the new bankruptcy law kicked in this week it would be quiet in the office and a good time to catch his breath. He was right. Though client calls are trickling in, it's nothing like a week ago when his Greenbelt law firm filed at least 89 bankruptcy petitions, compared with the usual five to 10 a week. "It was an avalanche," Burns said. That avalanche slowed Monday, when the biggest overhaul of the system in decades finally took effect.
