SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Either the Washington Bullets left something important on the Oakland Coliseum floor Wednesday, they lost it on the two-hour bus ride to Sacramento yesterday.Their performance in a 104-86 loss to the woeful Sacramento Kings last night hardly resembled their effort in a hard-fought road victory over Golden State the night before. The team that had won four of its previous seven games looked very much like the one that had begun the season with a 2-8 mark. These were the Kings, after all. The Kings, losers for so long and losers 13 times in their first 15 games this season.

WASHINGTON - For once, the Washington Wizards had the perfect excuse to take a mental night off, and didn't, but as usual, it didn't matter. With the Sacramento Kings, the fourth best team in the NBA, visiting on a snowy night when Washington's best player, Juwan Howard, had been traded to the Dallas Mavericks before the game, the Wizards had every excuse to phone it in at MCI Center last night. Instead, the Wizards gave an inspired effort before dropping a 115-110 decision to the Kings (35-17)
