Comedic stuntman and professional escape artist Brian Rudo recently removed celery from someone's mouth with a bullwhip while telling jokes. That's just one of the many diverse stunts that make up his Adrenaline Comedy Show, which he has performed at the Inner Harbor for over 13 years. Rudo, Randallstown-born and currently living in Reisterstown, gave b a fascinating glimpse into the personality of a man unafraid to … well … a man unafraid! Biggest pet peeves? Chewing with your mouth open and lip smacking.

Why is it so hard to make a persuasive movie about brothers? Defiance reduced the amazing real-life story of the Bielski brothers, who established "a Jerusalem in the woods" in the Belorussian forest, to a cliched shoot-'em-up with a guilty conscience. Wes Anderson has made a series of films, most recently The Darjeeling Limited, about brothers connected more by tics and grudges than by loyalty and feeling. Films that caught something piercingly intimate about fraternal bonds haunted the childhood hours I spent watching classic movies on TV; I'll never forget the Dumas-derived Corsican Brothers, about twins so close in spirit they literally feel each other's pain.

A Glen Burnie dentist accused of assault by kissing female patients chose not to contest the prosecution case against him yesterday in Anne Arundel Circuit Court but pleaded not guilty and left it to the judge to decide whether or how he should be punished. The charges of second-degree assault against Dr. Howard Frederick Rudo, 63, of Pikesville, stem from two incidents alleged to have occurred eight days apart at his dental office in the 400 block of S. Crain Highway. According to the uncontested statement of facts presented by Assistant State's Attorney Kathleen Rogers, the first incident occurred Aug. 11 when Rudo kissed a 16-year-old girl on the lips after completing her dental work.

Owings Mills coach Hal Rudo emphasizes in practice the importance of making the routine plays. It paid off yesterday in the Eagles' 1-0 victory at Lansdowne in the Baltimore County Class 2A-1A baseball league. Lansdowne (0-1) left a runner on third in each of the last five innings as the Eagles (2-1) made routine plays under pressure five consecutive times. Second baseman Matt Hecht, who scored the only run in the first, fielded a ground ball off the bat of Eric Klug and threw to first with two outs and a man on third for the game's final out. "That's amazing to do that five straight innings," Rudo said of his defending Baltimore County 2A-1A champions.
