Those stories you tell about your roommate from hell just might pay off. Live Baltimore is running a contest, offering a $100 prize package for the best worst roommate tale. A front-runner is Jennifer Anne Jobson, who talks about her freshman year roommate, who was sharpening a big knife the first time they met. One day, the girl -- who liked to eat fried chicken in bed -- took the knife to Jobson's mattress, some of her clothes, their rug and their bean bag chair. She also used it on a squirrel, which she left, dead, in Jobson's bed. Another person had a roommate that peed in the bathtub.

Dayvon Green was impaired by alcohol when he pulled a handgun out of his waistband in front of his College Park home early on a February morning and shot roommate Stephen Rane to death, according to autopsy reports released Thursday. Green, a graduate student at the University of Maryland, also wounded roommate Neal Oa before putting the gun to the back of his head, behind his right ear, and pulling the trigger, according to the reports. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner released the reports on Rane and Green after Prince George's County police and prosecutors confirmed that they had closed their investigation into the killings that shook the state's flagship university and led officials to direct more money toward mental health services for students.

In the days before police say he was fatally shot by his roommate Dayvon Green outside their College Park home, University of Maryland senior Stephen Rane had expressed concerns about Green having a mental illness and owning guns, according to a close friend. "I know that he did feel uncomfortable in the house," said Drew Needham, a senior who lived with Rane for two years before Rane decided to move off campus into the 36th Avenue home with at least four others, including Green, a 23-year-old graduate engineering student.
