KAYE B. SRAGOW, of Rockville Centre, New York, on March 19, 2008. Beloved wife of her late husband, Jack, she was a Navy nurse during World War II, then a registered nurse after the war. After graduating from Trenton State College, she became a school nurse in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and in Rockville Centre, New York, and pursued an interest in nutrition after she retired. An ardent Zionist and supporter of Jewish groups and charities, she was Chairman of the Education Committee for Hadassah in Nassau County.

Beloved husband of the late Gertrude; Devoted father of Michelle (Dr. Alvin Morrison), Dr. Myron (Suzanne) Levine, and Carol; Loving grandfather of David, Orin, Joanna, Rachel, Joshua, and Rebecca; Adored great-grandfather of Monica, Noah, William, Quinn, Abigail, Jessica, and Abraham; Professor Emeritus in Biology at Nassau Community College. Dr. Levine was an accomplished artist and author of "The Universe and You."Services will be at "Gutterman's," 175 N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre, N.Y., Thursday 12:15 P.M., September 29.

NEW YORK - For those left behind, each story began the same way - a deeply personal loss scrawled across a background of shared catastrophe. Many families riven by the Sept. 11 attacks still sought comfort in the footprints of the former World Trade Center. But others broke away from their collective identity as 9/11 families in search of more private rituals. Last year, Janice Waters of New York went to Ground Zero in the afternoon to mourn her husband, a firefighter. "Not for all the hoopla," she said earlier this week, but after the cameras and politicians had departed, to quietly be with other families who had lost people in the attacks.

GLADYS B. MCDONNELL, of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Rockville Centre, NY died on Monday, October 20, 2003. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. McDonnell, Jr. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she served as Regent of the William Dawes Chapter and as a State Officer of the New York Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her son Joseph F. McDonnell III of Baltimore, MD and daughter Mary Elizabeth McDonnell of Alexandria, as well as four grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born January 14, 1928 in Baltimore, MD, IVAN "BUD" ISAACS, passed away September 11, 2004 in Santa Monica, CA. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, George (Jo), his daughter Felicia of Seattle, WA and his step-son Michael Gordon. He is also survived by his sisters Irene Friedland and husband Frank of Baltimore and Hortense Goodovitch of Rockville Centre, NY; his nieces Joni Blum of Baltimore and Karen Rosenthal and husband Bob of New Hyde Park, NY; and his nephews Ronald Gaskel of Baltimore and Paul Goodovitch and wife Pattie of Seaford, NY. A longtime resident of Santa Monica and business owner, Bud was active in the fabric business in Los Angeles for 35 years.
