A downtown Baltimore restaurant owner was accosted early today as he left his business and robbed of $7,200 in cash and jewelry.Police said Emanual Politis, 38, co-owner of the Two Crazy Greeks carry-out and restaurant in the 1300 block of N. Charles St., was walking from his business about 3:50 a.m. carrying a green bank bag. He was confronted by two men who forced him back into the restaurant.One man pointed a handgun at Politis, police said. The robbers grabbed the bank bag, containing $1,200, and took two bracelets, valued at $5,000, from Politis' wrist.

Howard County police are looking for a man who they said followed a 63-year-old woman from her bank to her home in Riverside Estates and robbed her at gunpoint of money and thousands of dollars in gold jewelry. On Feb. 22, the woman took the jewelry and money out of her safety deposit box at First Union Bank in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive in Columbia. When she arrived at her home in the 6900 block of Newberry Drive about 11: 15 a.m., a man attacked her and demanded the bag she was carrying with the jewelry and money inside, police said.

A cab driver was robbed Friday by a purported customer who put a gun to the driver's head and demanded cash, countypolice said.Donald Blair, 37, a driver for Associated Taxi, was not hurt in the incident.Police said Mr. Blair went to Warwickshire Lane in Glen Burnie to pick up a fare shortly before midnight. A man got into his car, pulled out a semiautomatic pistol, pointed it at Mr. Blair's head and demanded money, police said.Mr. Blair complied, and the man ran away. Police searched for the bandit but did not find him. They have no description of the gunman.

A gunman got into a Baltimore man's car while he was at a Nursery Road gas station Thursday, ordered the man to drive off and robbed him of $100 and a pager, county police said.Harold H. Grewe, 40, told police he was getting gas at an Amoco station in the 800 block of Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights just after 9 p.m. when a man got into his car, pulled out a gun and ordered him to drive away.The man ordered Grewe into a nearby parking lot, where he took Grewe's pager and cash and fled on foot, police said.

A 32-year-old fast-food restaurant employee was robbed of cash as he left the Ellicott City store after closing late Wednesday night, Howard County police said.Police said David Waxter of Baltimore was walking to his car in front of the Wendy's in the 9200 block of Route 40 at 11:40 p.m. when a man approached him from behind.The man ordered Mr. Waxter not to move and threatened to kill him. Mr. Waxter immediately ran, dropping a bank bag of cash.The robber did not pursue the employee, instead apparently grabbing the bag of cash, police said.

A 56-year-old Baltimore woman was robbed of cash after making a transaction at a Harper's Farm automated teller machine Friday night, Howard police said.The victim withdrew cash from the machine in the 5400 block of Harper's Farm Road at 9 p.m. Friday when, police say, a man approached and demanded her money. A gunman robbed a Millersville Soda Pop Shop Saturday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.The man walked into the store in the 7700 block of Quarterfield Road shortly before 7 p.m. and brought an item to the counter. When the clerk rang up the purchase and opened the cash drawer, the man reached over the counter and grabbed money, police said.Another clerk saw the man reach for the money and grabbed his arm, but the man broke free and pointed a handgun at the two clerks before he ran away, police said.

A man robbed a Savage gas station early yesterday morning of an unknown amount of cash and a carton of cigarettes.The man entered Gallagher's Amoco in the 8800 block of Baltimore-Washington Blvd. about 1 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a handgun, demanded money and cigarettes, and then ran away, police said. An 18-year-old man told police Saturday that he was robbed of cash and a cellular phone when he left Harundale Mall at 9 p.m. Friday.The Baltimore man said he was on his way out of the mall when four men, one of them with a semiautomatic weapon and all wearing ski masks, demanded the money and his phone. The bandits fled on foot after they took the money and the phone, police said.

Two men, one armed with a knife, robbed a Baltimore man of cash and jewelry early yesterday in Brooklyn Park, county police said.James E. Gollick, 23, told police he was walking along Church Street near Franklin Street when two men approached and demanded money.Gollick refused to give them any and one of the men pulled out a knife and repeated the demand, police said. Gollick gave the man $123, and the man demanded a ring Gollick was wearing. Gollick handed it over and the man threatened to kill Gollick if he called police, then slashed his hand, police said.

A man with a handgun robbed a Severn man of an undisclosed amount of money Friday after the man withdrew cash from an automated teller machine in Glen Burnie, county police said.John M. Gerrish, 41, told police he was taking money from the ATM at the NationsBank branch in the 7200 block of Ritchie Highway about 8: 30 p.m. when a man approached him from behind, pulled out a dark gray and silver 9-mm semiautomatic handgun with wooden grips and demanded money.Gerrish handed the man his wallet, but the man said, "No, only the money," police said.

A man armed with a gun robbed a Brooklyn Park General Nutrition Center store of an undisclosed amount of money Friday, county police said.The man walked into the store in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway shortly before 3 p.m., picked up two items and walked to the cash register.As the clerk rang up the purchase, the man put a purple hip pack on the counter and pointed a small blue handgun at the clerk, police said.The man demanded money and told the clerk to put it in the hip pack, police said.

Howard County police are searching for three robbers -- one with a handgun -- who approached a man in the stairwell of his condominium complex in Columbia's Harper's Choice village last week, forced him inside his condominium and stole cash, jewelry, clothing and compact discs.Gregory Kenneth Shipman was not injured during the robbery, which police said occurred about 1 a.m. Friday at The Merion Condominiums in the 12200 block of Green Meadow Drive.Police said that after ransacking Shipman's condominium and stealing his belongings, the robbers fled on foot.

A Dunkin' Donuts deliveryman was robbed of cash at gunpoint outside an Ellicott City store yesterday morning, Howard County police said.The victim was not injured. Police said a man armed with a black handgun surprised the deliveryman as he worked in the 9300 block of U.S. 40 at 1:40 a.m.The robber demanded cash and ran when the worker complied, police said.He was described as a white, 6-foot-1-inch male weighing 195 pounds with long, straight black hair and a two-day beard growth. He wore a blue Nike shirt, police said.
