Early in the third quarter against the nation's top-ranked Football Championship Subdivision team, Towson quarterback Tommy Chroniger found a hole in the right side of the line and ran 12 yards for a touchdown that gave the Tigers their first lead. The run had the injury-riddled Tigers believing they could pull off a most improbable upset against Richmond. That optimism, however, was short-lived as the Spiders answered with 22 points in a span of 2 minutes, 33 seconds and pulled away for a 42-14 victory before an announced 4,396 at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

It was the latest twist for Devin Champagne, a Jessup man who had been on the run since his conviction Aug. 13 for first-degree theft, with his capture involving about 100 officers - from the U.S. Marshals Service, Maryland State Police and local police and deputies in Maryland and Virginia.

Only a few Federal Hill neighbors knew Kenneth Munzert's idiosyncrasies. He owned a silver-blue Bentley but preferred to walk in Baltimore. He sailed on the Queen Mary 2 but collected soap from hotels he visited. He lived in a $1 million house but wrote numerous letters on old fliers. Munzert, who died last year at age 88, had no close family and left his principal asset, his home overlooking the harbor, to an animal charity pledged to protect his German shepherd, Beauregard, a former stray with whom he sometimes slept on the floor.
