As of 8 a.m. Friday, a two-vehicle crash was reported at the outer loop of the Baltimore Beltway near Interstate 83 in Baltimore County, the State Highway Administration.

LaFontaine Oliver, general manager at Morgan State's WEAA-FM since 2007, is leaving to run public radio station WMFE-FM in Orlando, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Here's part of Sentinel TV Critic Hal Boedecker's report on the hiring of Oliver: “He has energy and enthusiasm, and we thought he would lead us to great things,” said Derek Blakeslee, chairman of WMFE's board of directors. Oliver replaces Jose Fajardo, who left WMFE in October. Oliver's challenges will include leading a reduced staff through a tumultuous media landscape.

Hurricane Sandy's rains caused 84 million gallons to run off into Maryland bodies of water, according to a report by research organization Climate Central. In New York and New Jersey, meanwhile, more than 5 billion gallons of sewage spills are estimated to have occurred. The District of Columbia also had more spillage than Maryland, with 475 million gallons from a single pumping station. Nearly half of Maryland's estimated total came from sewage overflows related to heavy precipitation.

After earlier incidents on interstates in Baltimore County and Baltimore City, area traffic moved without incident-related lane closures at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the state Department of Transportation. Legg Mason Inc. reported Tuesday that it earned $29.2 million in its fourth quarter, down about 62 percent from a year earlier due to added real estate expenses. The Baltimore-based money manager's results still beat analysts' expectations, and its stock ended the day up 48 cents at $31.86 per share. On a per-share basis, Legg earned 23 cents, exceeding analysts' expectations by 3 cents per share for the three months ended March 31. A year earlier, Legg earned $76.1 million, or 54 cents per share.

Hunt Valley-based Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. reported a 42 percent drop in profit for the first quarter, as operating and interest costs rose and revenue increased but fell short of analysts' expectations. The television station owner and operator said Monday that its income fell to $17 million, or 21 cents per common share, from $29.4 million, or 36 cents per share, during the three months that ended March 31. Its earnings did beat Wall Street's expectations of 17 cents per share, yet its stock fell Monday, closing at $26.69 per share, down 2.9 percent.

CBS '60 Minutes' will feature a report Sunday night on Rosie Napravnik, the 25-year-old jockey who will be the only female riding in the Kentucky Derby. But there's a backstage story to the report that features another 25-year-old woman, Michelle Boniface St. John, who grew up on the Bonita farm in Darlington, who helped produce the '60 Minutes' piece. St. John, the daughter of Kevin C. and Chris Boniface, of the famous Maryland horse racing and training family, has been working at CBS News for the last four years.

Firefighters battling a blaze in a small rowhome in West Baltimore on Thursday evening discovered the body of a man in a second-floor bedroom, said Roman Clark, spokesman for the city Fire Department. The man has not yet been identified, and a neighbor said she had never seen anyone go in or out of the home at 615 Claymont Avenue. The homes flanking it were vacant and no other injuries were reported, Clark said. It has not yet been determined whether the man was a resident, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Maryland has self-reported a series  of secondary violations to the NCAA. The violations involve a number of teams, including football, women's basketball and men's soccer, but are not  considered serious, according to an official with knowledge of the infractions. Most, if not all, of the violations involved calls or texts to recruits. In some cases, the official said, a coach returned a call or text not knowing they were contacting an unsigned recruit. The rules governing such communications have been evolving.
