Millette has completed the equipment records and parts specialist course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.* Air National Guard Airman Kristen L. Hasener, daughter of Joseph and Jacqueline Hasener of Kingsville, has completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command in Orlando, Fla.During her eight-week training cycle, she studied general military subjects designed to prepare her for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 basic fields.She joined the Navy in July 1990.QUINTAL CERTIFIED IN ORDNANCE REPAIRMarine Pfc. Matthew D. Quintal, son of Fay Ogrysko of Pylesville, completed the Electro Optical Ordnance Repair course.

Colonel Reynolds is assigned to Fort Mead where he is handling personal injury claims against the Army.Petty officer elevatedNavy Petty Officer 2nd Class John Warfield Jr., son of Albert and Cynthia Kupres of Clarksville and Mike and Mary Warfield of Baltimore, was recently elevated to his current rank. A hospital corpsman, Petty Officer Warfield is stationed aboard the USS John F. Kennedy, an aircraft carrier home ported in Norfolk, Va.The 1986 graduate of Lansdowne Senior High School enlisted in the Navy in August 1986.

* Navy Ensigns Brian C. Dozier and Scott D. Kuykendall graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis May 27 and were commissioned to their present rank in the U.S. Navy.At the Naval Academy, they underwent four years of academic, physical and professional training, culminating with a bachelor of science degree. Dozier took his degree in systems engineering, and Kuykendall took his in oceanography.The academy, ranked as one of the top institutions in the country, offers engineering, science and humanities to prepare the midshipmen for a military career.

Eric M. Hildebrandt, whose wife, Karen, is the daughter of George F. and Linda Wendt of Woodbine, recently graduated from the Basic School.

* Marine Lance Cpls. Dale A. LaRue and Mark T. Thurston are in the Mediterranean with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and are in the middle of a six-month deployment.Theyhave been participating in various operations and training exercisesdesigned to challenge the mission readiness of the unit. They recently completed two weeks of intensive training at Camp De Canjuers, France, and a liberty port visit to Haifa, Israel.Most recently, they arrived in Rota, Spain, and will visit other ports in the Mediterranean as the deployment continues.

Navy Ensign Michael J. King, son of Oliver H. King of Mount Airy, has been commissioned to his present rank upon graduation from Officer Candidate School.OCS, at the Naval Education and Training Center, Newport, R.I., is designed to prepare students to assume the duties and responsibilities of commissioned officers.During the 16-week course, King studied the principles of leadership, manpower management techniques, navigation and communications. He also studied Naval history, traditions and missions; the structure and organization of Naval commands; military courtesy; uniform regulations; seamanship; and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
