The Valencia Motel in the 10100 block of Washington Blvd. was robbed early Saturday by a man who kicked in the rear office door, Howard County police said.The robber demanded money from the clerk behind the counter about 1 a.m., police said, and took $180 from the drawer.A police report said the clerk activated an alarm after the man fled through the rear door.The robber was wearing a black jogging suit and a ski mask.Pub Date: 12/24/96

Hannah Avenue, 1900 block, between Oct. 13, 1 p.m., and Oct. 14, 2 p.m. Safe and cash stolen from residence after window was broken and air conditioner pushed out of window. Twin Circle Way, 3900 block, Oct. 12, between 8 p.m. and 10:52 p.m. Living room ransacked.

Two men, one with a 9 mm handgun, robbed an Annapolis sporting goods store Wednesday, then ordered a clerk to open a back door for their escape, county police said.The men walked into the Foot Locker in Harbor Center on Solomon's Island Road south of the city about 8: 30 p.m. and browsed through the sweat shirts.One went to the cashier and demanded money while the other showed the handle of the gun tucked into his waistband, police said.The men took money, then forced the clerk to open a rear door, through which they fled, police said.

POLICE LOG* Lisbon: 700 block of Lisbon Center Drive: Someone tried to pry open the rear door of Bill's Poultry on Tuesday. Police said there was no entry.

POLICE LOG* Elkridge: 6600 block of Hunter Road: Someone entered a home through a front rear door and stole cash Thursday, but police said there were no signs of forced entry.* Ellicott City: 8400 block of Mitzy Lane: A burglar pried open the rear door of a home Thursday and took cash and a credit card, police said.

POLICE LOG* Marriottsville: 800 block of Driver Road: Cash and credit cards were stolen Tuesday after someone entered a home by breaking a bedroom window and kicking in a rear door, police said.

POLICE LOG* Clarksville: 12100 block of Route 108: A safe and cash were stolen from Riverhill Garden Center after someone pried open a rear door and entered Wednesday, police said.

POLICE LOG* Long Reach: 5700 block of Sweetwind Place: Someone tried to force their way into a home Friday, damaging the deadbolt key slot in the rear door, police said.

Frederick Road , 6400 block, between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 7:20 a.m. Oct. 22. Door smashed and cash stolen from Thai Heaven restaurant.

Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible Cockeysville Malcolm Circle, 10300 block, between 8:30 and 9:45 p.m. Oct. 1. Four men approached another man who was making a food delivery. One of the robbers threatened the deliveryman with a handgun and demanded money while two others removed cash from victim's pockets.

Police reports in Baltimore city and county: Southwestern Baltimore Shooting : A man, 21, was walking in the 300 block of Furow St. about 4 a.m. Sunday when three gunmen got out of a car and shot the victim in the upper thigh before speeding away. The vicitm was taken by a city Fire Department ambulance to an area hosptial for treatment. No arrests had been made and police were without a motive. Southern Baltimore Shooting : Police were seeking a gunman who shot a man, 33, in the upper body about 1 p.m. Sunday during a robbery that netted the gunman $260.

Police logSevern: Someone destroyed a lock on the rear door of the Sherman, Scott & Cox building in the 900 block of Wieker Road Sunday night and stole tools, police said.Pub Date: 5/29/96
