An Annapolis man was arrested and charged with stabbing another man in the chest with a tire reamer Sunday evening, according to Annapolis police. Otto Gordy, 38, of Annapolis was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and disorderly conduct after allegedly stabbing the victim around 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Madison St., police said. Gordy is being held on $500,000 bond, police said. The victim refused treatment.

Reamer E. "Buzz" Sewell, a retired airlines ticket agent and Air Force navigator and bombardier who kept a secret diary documenting his experiences as a World War II prisoner of war, died of heart failure Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore. The longtime Severna Park resident was 85. Mr. Sewell enlisted in the Army Air Corps a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor. After completing training and attaining the rank of lieutenant, he joined the 387th Bombardment Group in England in 1944.

Reamer's, a local menswear retailer, has closed its Charles Street location in downtown Baltimore and is consolidating merchandise at its last remaining store in Pikesville.The Charles Street store is the second Reamer's location to go out of business in recent months.A store at Greenspring Shopping Center in Pikesville closed late last year. The Charles Street store, which was part of the Charles Plaza complex and opened in May 1986, closed about a week ago, said Herbert Reamer, owner of the retail operation.

Patrick W. Turner, the developer who plans to bring the Crash Cafe to Baltimore and convert the Southway Bowling Center into loft apartments, has another project in the works: turning the old McHenry Theatre into office space. Turner has the three-story Federal Hill building under contract, and will decide by Tuesday whether he wants to buy the theater, which for decades was a center of night and weekend life in the neighborhood. "This is a cool project for a cool area," Turner said. "This is a growing place that can use offices.

Jerome Reamer, 69, owned electronics, mattress storesJerome Reamer, founder and owner of South Baltimore electronics and mattress businesses, died Sunday of cancer at his Pikesville home. He was 69.Mr. Reamer established Poptronics Electronics in 1963. The Light Street business sells pagers, automobile stereos, radios, police scanners and marine radios. The House of Foam, a division of Poptronics that sells bedding, is at the same location.Born in Northwest Baltimore, he graduated from City College and served in the Navy in the 1950s.
