Facebook has undergone a redesign. It happens, oh, every five minutes. And yet, people are not, um, enjoying the new "upgrades" to their news ticker and top stories. Let the bitching begin! We looked through the many, many (we repeat: many!) angry/funny/perplexed tweets about Facebook and compiled our favorite reactions. ••• "Facebook done went and blow up people's ugly pics on my newsfeed. After hearing President Barack Obama plead Thursday for speedy passage of his $447 billion jobs package, Maryland lawmakers were divided about whether the plan would reduce the nation's stubbornly high unemployment. State Democrats expressed near-universal support for the American Jobs Act, which would cut payroll taxes by more than $240 billion, extend unemployment benefits and direct $100 billion to infrastructure improvements. Maryland's two Republicans were more skeptical and raised concerns about the cost.

A chain-reaction car crash in Gambrills Sunday, sent seven people to area hospitals, according to Anne Arundel county police and fire officials. The crash resulted after two teenage girls attempted to cross northbound Route 3 near Waugh Chapel Road and one of them was struck by a car. President Barack Obama plans to issue a series of proposals next week to address what public opinion polls say is far and away the biggest issue on the minds of Americans: how to create jobs and spur economic growth. But the reaction to his nomination of a well-respected, mainstream economist and expert on labor markets to the post as head of the Council of Economic Advisers shows just how seriously politics has warped the debate about the economy in Washington. Here's a sampling of what is being said by the nation's top economists about Alan Krueger, the Princeton professor Mr. Obama wants as his top economic adviser: He is a "smart guy" and an "excellent choice"; he is "an expert in labor-market problems, taxation and the economics of terrorism.

Last Monday, one of the most famous sets of call letters in the history of Baltimore radio was resurrected on local airwaves. And so far, listeners are split about the new HFS. Broadcasting on 97.5-FM, the newest incarnation is patterned closely after the influential alternative rock station once found at 99.1 on the dial — until its abrupt switch to Latin pop station El Zol in 2005. "The music made popular by HFS has lived on long after the station went off the air," CBS Radio senior vice president Bob Philips said last week when announcing the new station, noting that the brand had been kept alive as a streaming Internet station over the past six years.

How hypocritical of editorialists at The Sun — whose "Light For All" could easily be swapped for "If It Bleeds, It Leads" — for excoriating its audience in its editorial regarding public reaction to the July 4 t h violent incidents at the Inner Harbor ("Inner Harbor fireworks," July 6). A newspaper that pays its reporters to tweet in near real-time any and all crime they can uncover in Baltimore, and that allows, if not encourages, inflammatory and often bigoted commentary in its reader forums, and that periodically takes to publishing a body count box, has a sudden and newly-found perspective to admonish readers that things are not nearly as bad as they once were?

Last week, our family visited New York City on vacation. As we left our hotel Sunday to come back to Maryland, we got caught up in the crowds watching the city's Gay Pride Parade. It was quite an experience. The night before, the New York State Assembly had passed, and the governor had signed into law, a bill guaranteeing marriage equality, so the crowd was in especially high spirits. The parade, as might be expected, was quite entertaining, but what impressed us the most were the spectators.

Congress' full-throated adulation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was an embarrassment and made me fret for the future of our nation ("Congress lauds Israeli leader", May 25). Bloody and expensive foreign misadventures stemming from our uncritical support of an ethno-religious state bent on expansion and control are bound to follow. John G. Bailey, Edgemere

What are we going to do, keep them from pitching there?" Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "They pitch. It's part of the process. I'd like to think it won't be the last time they pitch there. We'll see. " Tillman, who is 2-3 with a 6.15 ERA, will start Monday's game against Daisuke Matsuzaka . Britton (5-2, 2.42)
