Vick-Burress combo? Joseph Moskowitz The Morning Call The criminal record and locker room issues attached to Plaxico Burress are no reason not to sign him. In a league practically built on second chances, Burress deserves another shot (figuratively speaking). And remember, the only thing seriously hurt in his shooting incident two years ago was his ego. Other second-chance NFL players have committed or been charged with far more destructive crimes. Burress' age is a concern — he will be 34 in August — but he still has plenty left to give.

Want to help Chad Henne's development? Sign Randy Moss. Want to turn some field goals into touchdowns? Sign Randy Moss. Want to help Brandon Marshall? Make the playoff run come into focus? Add some electricity to a team needing some? The Dolphins should sign Randy Moss, who admittedly has gone through two teams this year hoping to find a new contract and a smile. But the Dolphins have a wild card here. Chad Pennington and Moss played together at Marshall. That can be huge in the negotiations that no doubt are taking place right now. Moss might get claimed before he gets to the Dolphins on the waiver wire.

The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly waived wide receiver Randy Moss. The NFL Network is reporting the move, one day after Moss was held to one reception for eight yards in the Vikings' 28-18 loss at New England. More to follow.

Life without wide receiver Randy Moss begins this week for the New England Patriots, and football fans are eager to see how the franchise will fare. The Ravens, who will be the first opponent to meet the Moss-less Patriots, will be just as curious. "In my opinion, it's up in the air," cornerback Chris Carr said Wednesday. "Since the trade, they had a bye week, so who knows how they're going to look. … So it's going to be interesting to see. We're going to find out just like everybody else how different their offense is going to be. " So while the shock of New England's decision to ship Moss to the Minnesota Vikings for a third-round pick in next year's draft has subsided, the questions over how the offense will take advantage of quarterback Tom Brady's strong arm without a downfield threat like Moss continue to fly. What won't be debated is Moss' still-unfolding legacy.

Here's a look at what other media are saying about Randy Moss. • Tim Graham of ESPN.com's AFC East blog writes a pretty thorough account of what the Patriots' trade of wide receiver Randy Moss means for New England. The New England Patriots' offense evolved to the point Randy Moss was marginalized through the first quarter of the season. • Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Access Vikings blog caught up with Vikings All-Pro defensive tackle Kevin Williams, who believes Moss won't cause the same types of distractions he did during his first stint in Minnesota.

Ravens DTs Haloti Ngata and Kelly Gregg vs. Colts C Jeff Saturday At different points in the game, Ngata or Gregg will line up over Saturday. Both defensive tackles appear close to 100 percent healthy, and they are two of the best run-stoppers in the NFL. Ngata has more bulk and explosion, and Gregg is stronger and has better technique. Saturday is one of the better centers in the league. He has quick feet and can make blocks into the second level. Saturday is excellent at pass protection, but he'll struggle in run-blocking against the Ravens.

This game pits the Chargers' outstanding pass offense against the Jets' smothering pass defense. A matchup to watch is Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis on 6-foot-5 Vincent Jackson, who is six inches taller. The Jets still are upset about what they consider a snub: The Packers' Charles Woodson winning defensive player of the year over Revis. The size difference shouldn't make a big difference for Revis, considering the job he did on big men such as Andre Johnson, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss.

For all the issues the Ravens' secondary has endured this season, Randy Moss didn't exactly dominate the unit in the first meeting between the teams, a 27-21 New England Patriots victory. Covered primarily by Domonique Foxworth , Moss caught just three passes for 50 yards. It was, in some respects, Foxworth's best game this season. Moss did, however, catch a third-quarter touchdown pass that gave the Patriots a 24-14 lead. The pass, which was underthrown for Moss to come back and catch it, still bothers Foxworth.

It's more than a feeling Nick Fierro, The Morning Call When deciding on Hall of Fame qualifications, sometimes you go on instant feel, sometimes on sheer statistics and sometimes both. In Terrell Owens' case, it's both. From a performance standpoint, the numbers don't lie - 1,002 catches, 14,886 yards and a staggering 143 touchdowns. The TD total is more than recent electees Art Monk and Michael Irvin combined. From a feel standpoint, it's also overwhelming.
