Let's talk about sexy, baby, 'Glee' style. S-e-x was the topic of conversation tonight on 'Glee.' After a vanilla version of "Tonight" from West Side Story by Rachel and Blaine, aka Maria and Tony, Artie asks them about their lack of passion. Both the main characters admit to being virgins and waiting for the right person. But Artie's concerned they won't be convincing to the audience. After all, WSS is about teenage sexual awakening. Sparks fly when Blaine revisits Dalton as the Warblers are performing their rendition of "Uptown Girl.

His partnership with the late Jess Jackson put George Bolton in the Triple Crown spotlight in 2007 when Curlin won the Preakness. Two years later, Bolton returned to his hometown of Baltimore to celebrate with Jackson another Preakness victory, this one by the remarkable filly Rachel Alexandra. Now Bolton wants to do it again with a colt named Astrology — after another two-year interval — and he's going to retrace as many of his steps as he can in pursuit of the 136th Preakness.

Like President Barack Obama and President Hu Jintao of China, Verizon and I recently engaged in a summit. I called The Big V — truly, a communications superpower — to cancel my home phone. Rachel took the call for the company and put up pleasant resistance for nearly an hour. It became a test of wills and power. I want to drop my home phone, I told Rachel, but keep my Verizon Internet service. "May I ask why?" said she. Because I'm not using the land line.

Filly Rachel Alexandra , the 2009 Horse of the Year who knocked off the Kentucky Derby winner in the Preakness and finished the year 8-0, has retired, majority owner Jess Jackson announced Tuesday. "Despite top training and a patient campaign, Rachel Alexandra did not return to her 2009 form," Jackson said in a statement. "I believe it's time to retire our champion and reward her with a less stressful life. " After winning the Kentucky Oaks by 20 lengths the day before the 2009 Kentucky Derby, Rachel Alexandra stumbled at the start of the Preakness but was good enough to beat Mine That Bird, the Derby winner, to the wire.

Rachel Alexandra, who in 2009 became the first filly to win the Preakness Stakes in 85 years, is retiring from racing, according to owner Jess Jackson. The decision to end her career comes on the heels of a disappointing 2010 season, one where she never regained the form she showed as a dominant 3-year-old, winning only two of her five races. In 2009, the filly burst onto the scene by winning the Kentucky Oaks by a record 20 lengths, a performance so impressive it had many experts surmising that she could have entered the Kentucky Derby the following day and won. Jockey Calvin Borel, who rode her to victory in the Oaks, thought so highly of her he became the first jockey in history to ride the Kentucky Derby winner and then give up that mount in the Preakness because he wanted to ride another horse.

The Anne Arundel Board of Education voted unanimously Wednesday to name a school administration building in Annapolis for a husband and wife who were trailblazers in pushing for equity for black teachers in the county. The Green Street Administrative Building will be named after Philip L. and Rachel Hall Brown, longtime teachers and civil rights activists. The building is to become part of Annapolis Elementary School. The Browns were county educators for 42 years. "The Browns were not only extraordinary people, they were those teachers that we all remember," said school board President Ned P. Carey.

Rachel Alexandra, who won the 2009 Preakness, will run in the Grade II FleuDe Lis at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday. "Rachel Alexandra continues to turn in strong works," owner Jess Jackson said in a statement released this morning. "As long as she continues to progress, we intend to race her with the expectation that she will obtain her fitness level of last year. Our ultimate goal and hope is to enter the Breeders Cup in November." Winless in two starts this year, the reigning Horse of the Year last raced in late April, finishing second to Unrivaled Belle in the Grade II La Troienne at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby weekend.

— Rachel Alexandra, winner of the 2009 Kentucky Oaks and the 2009 Preakness, was hoping to return to form in Friday's $400,000 La Troienne Stakes at Churchill Downs, the site of her most impressive victory. When she ran here a year ago and won by 201/4 lengths, it seemed as if she were untouchable and possibly the best 3-year-old in the world. But Rachel's 4-year-old campaign has been a different story. Despite going off as a 1-5 favorite, she didn't look like the super horse we saw a year ago, getting beaten by a head by Unrivaled Belle after a spirited battle.
