Todd Vizcarrondo surfs ocean waves, not the Internet. He picked up his business degree last week, but he doesn't consider himself a bookworm. He's an active outdoorsman who enjoys deep-sea fishing and mountain biking, and his idea of fun isn't spending two weeks in a recliner.Like he did in 1995.And 1996.Vizcarrondo, a junior midfielder, is among the offensive talents who have lifted Loyola College to the No. 1 seed in the NCAA lacrosse tournament. He won't lead the semifinals at Rutgers on Saturday in goals or assists, just fractures of the clavicle.

After 41 consecutive appearances in the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament, No. 13 Johns Hopkins was left out of the 16-team field when it was announced Sunday night. The program's run had been the longest active streak in Division I in all sports - just ahead of Miami baseball (40 straight) and Virginia men's soccer (32). "We're very disappointed," Blue Jays coach Dave Pietramala said. "It was not how we set out to have this thing finish. I'm certainly disappointed for our team and our seniors.

No. 4 SEED CORNELL (14-0) VS. NO. 5 SEED ALBANY (15-2) Site: Princeton (N.J.) Stadium Time: Noon Outlook: Before UMBC and Delaware became great stories in the NCAA tournament, Albany (N.Y.) had become the Division I story of the year, behind coach Scott Marr. Now, the Great Danes must win their first quarterfinal against a balanced, explosive Cornell team bent on winning its first NCAA crown since 1977 and reaching its first final four since 1988. Unless Albany does a superb job at the faceoff X - and neither team has been dominant there - it looks like a tall order.
