A routine noise complaint was anything but when police went to a Westminster apartment early yesterday and arrested five people, one of whom is accused of growing a dozen marijuana plants, court records show.Ernesto A. Torres, 19, of the 100 block of W. Main St. was held in lieu of $25,000 bail after being charged with possession of marijuana, growing marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.The others, who were released on personal recognizance, were: Nicole T. John, 18, of the 16000 block of Trenton Road in Upperco; William J. Brengle, 19, of the 5000 block of Millers Station Road in Hampstead; Joshua L. Potts, 19, of the 4600 block of Water Tank Road in Manchester; and Erin L. Dauzet, 21, of the 100 block of E. Green St. in Westminster.

County police arrested a Bethesda couple on drug charges yesterday morning after searching their car in a park and ride lot near Davidsonville Road and U.S. 50, officials said.Paula Rosina Mookerjee, 20, and Mario Lynn Worton, 22, both of the 7300 block of Burdette Court, were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.They were released on their own recognizance.A Southern District officer noticed a couple sitting in a car on the lot shortly after 12:30 a.m., police said.

Dentist to expand office, preserve old oak treeA Mountain Road dentist plans to expand his practice with a new 3,500-square-foot building across from the Pasadena Post Office.Dr. John J. Mosca, who has had offices at the Lake Shore Plaza for 10 years, said his new two-story building is being designed to preserve a massive, old oak tree near the edge of the road. The first floor of the building will house Dr. Mosca's practice. Professional offices will occupy the second floor.The building should open by mid-1993.

Four men and a woman were arrested Thursday night during a raid at a Pasadena home that yielded 4 1/4 pounds of marijuana and more than $450, police said.Eastern District officers obtained a warrant for the house in the 100 block of Linden Ave. after a two-month investigation that started with a tip to the department's drug hot line.Officers raided the house about 10:30 p.m. In addition to the drugs and money, they said they found pipes, several scales and tally sheets used for drug sales.

Through a combination of planned drug raids and a search that came after a driver ran a red light, Anne Arundel County police have seized more than $4,000 worth of marijuana, crack cocaine and cash in recent days. In two days, eight people have been charged with drug violations around the county, police said yesterday. Narcotics officers made their biggest seizure of the week Tuesday in Glen Burnie. Police said officers watched two men sell marijuana to another man, then stopped the van in which the two men rode a short distance away.

Howard County police arrested a Savage man and a Jessup teen-ager Monday night and charged them with intending to sell 134 bags of marijuana from a car.Sgt. Morris Carroll, police spokesman, said police received a tip that someone was dealing drugs from an Oldsmobile in the 9500 block of Canterbury Riding in North Laurel.The tipster reported seeing several men walk up to the car and exchange something with its occupants, Carroll said.About 7: 20 p.m. Monday, Cpl. David Ash approached the car and saw on the car seat a plastic bag containing what he suspected was marijuana, the spokesman said.

A Westminster High School student arrested at school Monday on marijuana and theft charges was ordered held in a detention facility yesterday, pending further action by juvenile authorities.The boy, 16, was not identified because of his age.Westminster police said the boy became a suspect during an investigation into the Oct. 19 theft of auto parts from Griffith Auto Park at 580 Baltimore Blvd.Detectives had the suspect's car under surveillance at school Monday and took him into custody when he returned and got into the vehicle.

A Baltimore corrections officer was indicted by a grand jury yesterday and charged with manslaughter with an automobile. Shawnisha T. Lucas, 24, of the 1700 block of Park Ave., was driving in the 1700 block of Bloomingdale Road at 5 a.m. June 30 when the 1992 Buick LeSabre she was driving crashed into four parked cars, said Margaret T. Burns, spokeswoman for the Baltimore state's attorney's office. Killed in the accident was Lucas' passenger, Talia G. Moore, 24. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
