A frequent critic of Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's administration was arrested and jailed Wednesday morning when she tried to enter City Hall to attend a public meeting. Officers told the activist, Kim A. Trueheart, 55, of Baltimore, that she had been banned from the building. Trueheart was held at Baltimore's Central Booking and Intake Facility on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct until Thursday morning, when she was released, the facility confirmed. Maryland State Police and Harford County Sheriff's Office reports: Aberdeen Eric Briggs, 36, and Myulika Brooks, 27, of the 4800 block of Villa Point Drive, were charged Tuesday with second-degree assault. Wayne Bowser, 28, of the 300 block of Baltimore Street, was charged Wednesday with possessing a drug other than marijuana. Straps were cut and tires were slashed on a tractor trailer Tuesday in the 3700 block of Churchville Road. A front door of a home in the 700 block of Mahan Road was wide open Tuesday.

An armed, off-duty Baltimore City police officer was arrested in Towson early Saturday and charged with two counts of reckless endangerment. Baltimore County police said that Matthew David Daugherty, 28, posted $75,000 bail after the incident. Police said they were called to the Rec Room bar in the 500 block of York Road in Towson after an employee called 911 and described a disturbance. "The complainant told 911 that an intoxicated off-duty city officer was being very belligerent and kept saying that he had a gun," the county report said.

Police in Anne Arundel County arrested a man for choking his uncle at a home in Severn and have charged the man with attempted murder. At approximately 7:33 a.m. on Jan. 12, police responded to a 911 report of a fight involving a man choking his 51-year-old uncle with a rope, according to a statement issued by Anne Arundel police officials. Upon arriving at a residence in the 7900 block of Citadel Drive, police saw the men in the front yard and removed the rope from the victim's neck to allow him to breathe.

Residents protesting a police officer shooting another resident's dog on New Year's Day staged a demonstration on Saturday outside the headquarters of the Northeast District, as the new commander there introduced himself to residents. A Baltimore police officer chased a suspect through Stacy Fields's yard in the 5500 block of Bucknell Road, and when her dog Kincaid started barking at him, the officer shot him. The dog had charged, according to a police report, and the department said the shooting was justified.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police report: Aberdeen Matthew Smothers, 42, of the 200 block of Mayberry Drive, was charged Thursday with second-degree assault. A door was stolen from a construction site Wednesday in the 1500 block of Carsins Run Road. A generator was stolen from a garage Wednesday in the 1100 block of Montreal Drive. A shed was vandalized Monday in the 3400 block of Nova Scotia Road. Aberdeen police report: A cab driver was robbed Monday by two men and a woman she picked up in the Riverside area and drove to the 400 block of Washington Street.

An argument at an Annapolis Thanksgiving dinner ended with a 27-year-old woman stabbing her half brother in the neck with a serving fork, police said. Police said the stabbing took place in the 1100 block of Madison St. Shenika Allsup, 27, and Deonte Antionio Wallace, 23, had been arguing. When the spat escalated, she used the fork as a weapon, according to a police report. An officer who responded found Wallace in the parking lot of an apartment building, clutching his neck and wearing a bloodied white T-shirt, the report shows.

Baltimore County police say a business on Falls Road had 1,369 gallons of diesel fuel stolen in an incident last week. According to reports, the theft occurred overnight - between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 - from the lot at G. Edgar Harr, in the 12000 block of Falls Road. The police report said the fence lot had been cut. In addition, another business, Scientific Plant Services Inc., had 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel stolen from tanks, according to police. That incident occurred in the 6300 block of Belair Hill Lane, between 5 p.m. Nov. 8 and 7 a.m. Nov. 9, according to reports.
