A man with a note robbed a Severna Park bank branch Saturday -- the third such robbery in the county in four days.County police said the first two were not related, but they said it was unclear whether the Saturday robbery was related to either of the others.Police said the man waited in line with customers at the First National Bank of Maryland in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway. Shortly after 4 p.m., he handed a teller the note demanding money.When the teller handed over the money, the man fled, police said.

A man who used a note saying he had a weapon robbed a Millersville bank branch Wednesday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.The robber walked into a Washington Savings Bank branch in the 600 block of Old Mill Road shortly before 11 a.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money and claiming he had a weapon.The teller gave money to the robber, who ran away with it in his hands, police said.The thief is described as white, about 25, with dark hair and an unshaven face. He was wearing bluejeans, a dark T-shirt and a blue baseball cap.County police arrested a Crownsville man Wednesday on charges stemming from an attack in August on an 86-year-old man who was forced inside his home at the point of a shotgun and robbed.

TCA county police officer stopped a sports utility vehicle Monday in Pasadena, arrested the driver on drug charges and seized the vehicle and $624, county police said.Officer Clarence Cornwell stopped a 1994 Ford Explorer on Mountain Road near Freetown Road shortly after 10 p.m. Monday when the vehicle passed him and he noticed it did not have a front license tag, police said.Cornwell checked the driver's license, which he found had been suspended.In a search of the truck, Cornwell and Officer Keith Clark found a pipe and two small bags of what tested positive for heroin, police said.

Police answering a series of vandalism calls in Glen Burnie Thursday night arrested three suspects at a Glen Burnie apartment complex.William Knight of Rogers Avenue in Glen Burnie called police shortly before 2 a.m. and reported seeing youths smash DTC window of his mother's 1996 Volkswagen and drive away.While Officer Eric Owens was talking to Knight, a similar vandalism report came in from Melissa Frank on Second Avenue, who told police vandals had smashed her car window and stolen an emergency kit, police said.

County police said they arrested a Lanham man Wednesday on an assault charge after his former girlfriend said he pulled a gun during a custody dispute and threatened to shoot her.Tracy L. Burglar enters 4 businesses, steals money from threeA thief twisted cylinder locks off four county businesses within an hour Wednesday, stole money from three of them and vandalized one, county police said.Investigators said they think the same thief was involved in all the break-ins because of their similarity, with the cylinder locks twisted out of the doors and the locks missing. Three break-ins were in Annapolis and one in Millersville.Officers saw similar burglaries in Severna Park last week and think they also may be related, police said.

A gunman wearing surgical gloves, black sunglasses and a camouflage-style baseball cap robbed an Annapolis bank of an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday, county police said.The man, who displayed a semiautomatic handgun, walked into the Annapolis Bank & Trust branch in the 700 block of E. College Parkway about 1: 30 p.m. and announced a robbery.He jumped over the counter, took cash from several teller stations, then fled on foot toward westbound U.S. 50, police said.A 26-year-old woman told police she was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night while walking through her Glen Burnie neighborhood, police said.

A man broke into an Arnold home Thursday, lay in wait in a shower and raped a 60-year-old woman at knifepoint, county police said.The woman went to her bathroom about 9: 30 p.m. after she heard water running in the sink and the man grabbed her from behind, held a large knife to her throat and raped her, then demanded her wallet, police said.The woman told her assailant where her purse was and the man fled with an undisclosed amount of money from it.Police, who searched with dogs and a helicopter, found the knife near the woman's home but did not find the man, who apparently had forced a rear sliding glass door to get into the house.

Two police officers were bitten Tuesday night while subduing a Jessup man who had fought with his father and allegedly threatened his parents with a shotgun, authorities said.According to accounts given to police, Jeremy Duvall, 26, began arguing with his girlfriend, Klara Hook, 23, about 11: 30 p.m. and stood in a doorway to prevent her from leaving the house in the 2900 block of Jessup Road.Checking on the commotion, the father, Jason Duvall, 44, became involved in a fight with his son; the mother, Jackie Duvall, called police.

Thieves have stolen more than $3,000 worth of guns from two homes in Hanover over the past two weeks, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday. They said they weren't sure whether the cases were related, however.In one case, a sliding glass door was forced open at the home of Howard R. Parks, 36, of the 7600 block of Watts Ave. between 11: 30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday. The house was ransacked, and nine handguns and long guns worth $2,975 were stolen from a safe in the living room.In the 7700 block of Baggins Road, less than a mile away, the rear door was kicked in, the family room was ransacked, and several handguns, three videocassette recorders, a satellite dish, a camcorder and jewelry of undetermined value were stolen, police said.
