Anne Arundel County police thought they had lost a drug suspect they were chasing through Brooklyn Park Friday until they spotted the light from his glow-in-the-dark tennis shoes in the shrubbery of a house on 11th Avenue.Police charged Roland F. Gross, 22, of the 8100 block of Herold Court, Glen Burnie, with possession of heroin and marijuana.Officers from the Northern District tactical patrol unit had flooded Brooklyn Park Friday night in an effort to head off drug crime when they saw a man making suspected drug deals in front of the Park Plaza Motel in the 4900 block of Ritchie Highway.

Baltimore County police have arrested a 21-year-old Dundalk man and are seeking a 16-year-old youth in the killing of a woman in Dundalk Wednesday, saying they believe the woman was accosted and shot in a dispute over drugs.Linda Whitfield-Ugboaja, 38, of the first block of Armitage Court was found behind the 2600 block of Yorkway with multiple gunshots wounds at 1: 15 a.m. Wednesday. She died a half-hour later. Witnesses said she was chased into the alley by two men and pleaded for her life.

A Baltimore man was arrested on drug charges Saturday after marijuana was found in a pickup truck, police said.An officer saw a man searching the bed of the truck on Harrison Square in Glen Burnie about 10 p.m., police said. When the man saw the officer, he began to walk away.The officer told the man to come back and asked him what he was doing. The man said he was looking through a tool bag for some cassettes, police said. When the officer looked in the truck bed, he saw five bags containing a little more than an ounce of a substance that police said later tested positive for marijuana.

A man who was seen tampering with cash registers at the J. C. Penney store in Marley Station mall was arrested on drug charges after police found crack cocaine in his car.County police said Michael Gabriel Pantelis, 33, of the first block of Greenmeadow Drive in Timonium was charged Thursday with possession of crack cocaine.J. C. Penney security guard Randy Easter said he saw a man tampering with a cash register about 8: 30 p.m. Thursday and followed him outside as he walked toward a red Mitsubishi Eclipse.

County police arrested a motorist and his passenger on handgun charges Friday and seized three loaded weapons from their van.Cecil Bernard Scott, 26, of no fixed address and Karen Kuzyk, 18, of the 500 block of Norwich Road in Severna Park were charged with illegal possession of handguns.Scott also was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and on three traffic and three criminal warrants, police said.Detective John K. Heiser was in an unmarked car about 9: 45 p.m. when he saw a man wanted on several warrants driving on Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, police said.

A 19-year-old man died after being shot late Friday in Baltimore's Barclay neighborhood, police said. The man was walking west in the 400 block of E. 21 s t Street at 11:38 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up, the passenger got out and shot the victim multiple times, a preliminary investigation found. When officers arrived, they found the victim face down on the sidewalk. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died at 12:10 a.m., police said. Police are waiting for the victim to be fingerprinted before they will confirm his identity.

Westminster police, in a continuing probe of a recent two-month undercover drug investigation, arrested a city man Thursday.Louis "Rusty" Russell Moals Jr., 25, of the 100 block of S. Center St. was charged with one count of a drug distribution conspiracy to an undercover police officer. He also was charged with an unrelated theft and held Friday in lieu of $5,000 bond at the detention center.Police Chief Sam Leppo credited a newly hired officer, who was not identified because he is working undercover, and Detective Sgts.

Man dies after stabbing in street near Laurel Anne Arundel County police are investigating the apparent fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man found early Monday on a street near Laurel. Jamal Medina, 22, of an apartment in the 200 block of Red Clay Road, was found on Red Clay Road near Route 198. "It appears to be a homicide," said Justin Mulcahy, police spokesman. Police have no suspect and knew of no motive. A caller to 911 reported seeing a man collapse in the road about 1:45 a.m. Fire Department officials said the victim was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was in cardiac arrest when rescue workers arrived.

dies in hospitalA Fairhaven man involved in a car accident in February has died as a result of his injuries.James Pinkney, 45, of Wilson Road, a passenger in a car that crashed through a fence, died early Monday morning at Maryland Shock Trauma Center at University Hospital in Baltimore, police said.The driver of the car, Robert Eugene Wilkerson, 60, of the 6800 block Wilson Road, Fairhaven, has been charged with driving while intoxicated. The State's Attorney's office is reviewing the case to see if additional charges should be filed.

3 men hold up store in Glen Burnie FridayThree men, one armed with a pipe, robbed a Glen Burnie bed store Friday afternoon.Police said a man walked into the Bedding Barn store in the unit block of Ordnance Road at about 12:30 p.m. and asked to see some beds. A few minutes later, two other men walked into the store and asked to see some headboards.One man then announced a hold-up. The robber had what looked like a gun sticking out of his jacket, police said.After the clerk handed over money from the register and his wallet, the men asked for money from the safe.
