Robber sprays clerk's face, takes cash from gas stationA man armed with an unknown liquid sprayed a clerk of a Linthicum gas station in the face and robbed the station of an undisclosed amount of money yesterday, county police said.Carl Almoney, 26, suffered only a slight eye irritation from the spray and refused medical treatment, police said.Mr. Almoney told police a man walked into the store shortly before 1 a.m., sprayed him in the face, took cash from behind the counter, and ran. Police do not have a description of the man.

A man was killed and a woman was injured Thursday afternoon in a Southwest Baltimore corner store, marking the city's 10th homicide in the first nine days of the year. The shooting took place just before 3 p.m. at the Latino Deli and American Grocery at Christian and South Smallwood streets in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood. Neighbors said the store was operated by a man everyone called "Papi. " Police have not identified the victims, but neighbors said the store operator and two of his relatives were in the store when the shots were fired.

A limousine company driver was robbed of $225 Sunday evening as he cleaned the Z Best Limo Co.'s car, parked in the 8000 block of Corkberry Lane, police said.Donald Edward White, 29, told police a man approached him and started a conversation about 7:30 p.m. When he turned to get a business card, the man stuck a metal object in his back and demanded money, police said. Mr. White gave the money to the man, who then fled, police said.

Baltimore police continue to investigate a shooting that left a 21-year-old man wounded in East Baltimore. Officers responded about 5:21 p.m. Wednesday to the 1800 block of Aisquith Street, east of Greenmount Cemetery in the city's Oliver neighborhood, where they found the victim who had been shot in the stomach, police said. The man did not give officers any information before he was taken to an area hospital, police Det. Vernon Davis said. But Eastern District detectives found a witness who had seen the shooting.

A man in a dark vehicle asked a 12-year-old boy walking in Ellicott City if he wanted a ride Wednesday, Howard County police said yesterday. The boy, who declined the ride, said he was walking near Centennial Lane and Tuscany Road, police said. Police are investigating an unrelated incident Saturday. An Ellicott City girl told police a man touched her inappropriately through her clothing as she was skating near Gray Rock Drive and Walt Mill Road.

Police arrested a Severn man Monday evening and charged him with robbery, assault and battery and theft.Samuel Suriyan Noipoom, 26, told police a man punched him in the face shortly before 7 p.m. as he stood in the 1800 block of Oriole Court in Spring Meadows. The man took Mr. Noipoom's pager and $40, police said.Mr. Noipoom knew the man and gave police his address. Officer Thomas Middleton went to the man's address and was told he had driven away, police said.Officer Middleton spotted the car nearby and arrested Troy Anthony Jenkins, 20, of the 1800 block of Robin Court, police said.

Two men posing as customers robbed a Laurel restaurant at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of money Wednesday, county police said.Gloria M. Jones, 29, clerk at the Subway in the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road, told police a man walked into the store shortly before 9 a.m. and left. A short time later, he returned with another man and placed an order, police said.While Jones was taking the order, the second man went behind the counter, pulled out a black handgun and demanded money, police said.

A Pasadena man suspected of assaulting and robbing a Severn woman Saturday night was arrested after police found him hiding in the closet of an apartment in the 7800 block of Levy Court, authorities said.Police went to the 7800 block of Levy Court about 10:30 p.m. and found a woman who had called to report a purse snatching. Felicia Harris, 24, told police a man grabbed her purse as she walked up the stairs of the apartment building.She also told police the man ran into a nearby apartment.

A Glen Burnie man was arrested Saturday morning and charged with robbing the Rose Restaurant Limited bar in Linthicum bar, county police said.Witnesses told police a man walked into the bar in the 6000 block of Belle Grove Ave. shortly before 11 a.m. The man told the barmaid to give him all of the money in the cash register, police said.When the barmaid asked the man if he was serious, the man put his right hand in a paper bag as though he had a gun, and repeated the demand, police said. The barmaid then gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash.

County police arrested a man and woman from Baltimore Sunday and charged them with stealing cigarettes from a Brooklyn Park 7-Eleven. Police also filed drug charges against the woman.Donna Taylor, a clerk at the store, in the 4000 block of Ritchie Highway, told police a man and a woman walked in shortly after 3 a.m. The man asked for two cartons of cigarettes.Ms. Taylor got them, the man grabbed them and the couple ran out the door, heading west on Belle Grove Road toward Edgevale Road, police said.

BALTIMORE CITY Northeastern District Stolen vehicle: A late-model Honda automobile belonging to a city police officer was stolen Monday afternoon from in front of the victim's house on Elmora Avenue. Inside it were the officer's gun, badge and gun belt. Central District Theft: Someone broke the front passenger window of a 2002 Toyota 4Runner about 11:45 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of E. Centre St. and stole a handicapped placard that was hanging from the rearview mirror.

County police arrested an Annapolis man Monday less than a mile from the Pasadena gas station he is suspected of robbing.Benjamin B. Janey, 30, of the 1400 block of Tyler Ave., was charged with robbery and theft.A clerk at Ed's Shell in the 100 block of Mountain Road told police a man walked into the station at about 2 a.m. and demanded money. The clerk complied and the man ran away, police said.A short time later, Officer Kenneth Edmonds spotted a man fitting the suspect's description a few blocks from the gas station, police said.

A man with a gun in his waistband robbed an Edgewater convenience store Tuesday of an undisclosed amount, county police said.Pat Clark, a clerk at High's in the 100 block of Central Ave., told police a man in a gray hooded sweat shirt walked in about 9 a.m. and demanded money. Clark complied and the man left the store in a small white car, heading toward Davidsonville.Two teen-age boys on bicycles pushed a 75-year-old woman to the ground Tuesday along Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park and took her purse, county police said.

County police arrested a Glen Burnie man Tuesday on drug charges after chasing him through an apartment complex into a stairwell.Shaun D. Joyce, 18, of the 400 block of Old Quarterfield Road, was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.Eastern District Officer Ross R. Passman was on patrol in the 7900 block of Nolpark Court in Glen Burnie shortly before 11 p.m. when he saw several men standing near a playground known for drug dealing, police said.When Passman stopped, two of the men ran, and he chased them, police said.

County police arrested a Glen Burnie man Friday on charges that he waited in the trunk of his former girlfriend's car and kidnapped her when she got in to drive, county police said.Isaac Joseph Aaron, 19, of the 7800 block of Americana Circle was charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment.Police said a man climbed into the trunk of a Ford Escort registered to Angela D. Hans, 20, of the 1200 block of Green Holly Drive while it sat on a lot at Anne Arundel Community College before 11 a.m.As Hans was driving from the campus, the man pushed out the rear seats, emerged from the trunk and told her to keep driving, police said.

A Baltimore woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing a movie video valued at $16 from a Kmart store, county police said.A security officer for the store in the 8000 block of Jumpers Hole Road told police the woman walked into the store shortly after 4:30 p.m., took "The Indian in the Cupboard" video from a display, put it in her coat and left the store without paying, police said.The security officer held the woman for police. Patricia Micheala Pilger, 25, of the 2800 block of Maisel St., was charged with theft.

A man who implied he had a weapon robbed an Annapolis furniture store and its clerk of $90 Tuesday, county police said.The unidentified clerk at Jennifer Convertibles in the 2400 block of Solomon's Island Road told police a man walked into the store just after 8 p.m. and asked where the safe and the money were.The clerk told the man that there was no safe, but she gave him $10 from the petty cash container and $80 of her own money, police said. The woman told police that the man did not display a weapon but that he had his hand tucked inside his coat as if he were concealing one.The man ran through the back door into the woods behind the shopping center, police said.
