Sister of Thomas Brathuhn and the late Wilson James Brathuhn. Also survived by grandchildren Jason, Holly and Christian Lambert, Richard and Victoria Scarlet and Rebecca Bange. Services at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, MD 21074, Saturday 10 A.M. Interment Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Actor to portray circuit preacher at special serviceActor Ken Steward will portray Robert Strawbridge, the first American Methodist circuit rider, making a visit to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove and Dover Roads in Boring, as the church celebrates the 125th anniversary of its founding in 1868 at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday.Born in Ireland in 1732, Strawbridge immigrated to America, settled on Sam's Creek near New Windsor and began to spread Methodism throughout the area.

THE WOMEN'S CLUB of Hampstead kicks off another year of activities with a noon luncheon Tuesday at the Elks Lodge in Westminster. A business meeting will follow.Hilary Hatfield, executive director of the Carroll County Arts Council, will speak about the arts.The club meets monthly October through May. A theme is presented at each month's meeting.Prospective members are introduced by current members and attend three meetings before joining the club.Information: 374-6842.Church bazaarVendor space is still available at the Christmas Bazaar and Flea Market to be held Nov. 2 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, east of Fowblesburg.

WrestlingA trio of wrestlers from the Howard County Vipers took home first-place finishes at last week's Selinsgrove, Pa. Wrestling Tournament.Michael Dauberman (65 pounds), Brandon Lauer (70) and Derek Dauberman (85) each won individual championships. At a separate tournament in Solanco, Pa., 60-pounder Chris Bunai took third place and 135-pounder Nick Service placed fourth.Michael Dauberman, Derek Dauberman, Lauer and Service were also among the winners in a 61-28 dual-meet victory over Riverdale Baptist.
