Funeral services will follow at 11 A.M.

On July 11, 2004, ELIZABETH ANGELA PINDELL of Preston, MD; loving mother of Eran and Tina Pielert; beloved companion of Kenny Schlotzhauer; dear sister of Vince, Bob, John and Rick Pindell, Marge Cullison and the late Charles S. Pindell, III; daughter of the late Angela Gisriel and Charles S. Pindell, Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. On May 19, 2007, WILLIAM L. PINDELL died at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. He was born in Baltimore, MD August 6, 1937. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 11 A.M. at Asbury U. M. Church, Charles Town, WV. Interment Edge Hill Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday at the Melvin T. Strider Funeral Home from 6 to 9 P.M.

Marian Pindell, a homemaker and former teacher, died of heart disease Friday at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Rodgers Forge resident was 92. Marian Haugh was born in Maryland, but family members were uncertain of the exact place of birth because her father was a Methodist preacher, moving from church to church. She was a graduate of what is now Towson University. She taught at city elementary schools for several years before her marriage to Walter Y. Pindell Sr., an engineer for Black & Decker Corp.

William H. Pindell Sr., a retired electrician and former Baltimore resident, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Aug. 23 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was 74. Mr. Pindell, who was born and raised in Baltimore, served with the Maryland State Guard, now the Maryland Defense Force, during World War II. After his discharge in 1946, Mr. Pindell studied printing at Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School, graduating in 1948. He enlisted in the Navy that year and served aboard submarines until being discharged in 1950.

John E. Pindell, a retired steel company supervisor and former Perry Hall resident, died in his sleep Thursday at a hospital in Conway, S.C. He was 78 and had lived in Santee, S.C. Mr. Pindell was born in Baltimore and raised in Essex and Middle River. He attended Baltimore County public schools. During the Korean War he enlisted in the Navy and served as a cook aboard the USS Fox. After being discharged, Mr. Pindell returned to Baltimore and earned his General Educational Development diploma, family members said.

Rhonda Pindell-Charles of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools was trying to come up with a program that would help parents in the Annapolis area when she settled on a simple idea: combining sports and education. Pindell-Charles is a driving force behind "FamilyHood Scores!," a program that county schools developed in partnership with 14 county and city organizations and with businesses to help parents get more involved in their children's education while also playing basketball. The program, which serves the Annapolis area, takes place on Thursday nights.

Elizabeth Denison Pindell, a homemaker and former co-owner of a dairy business, died of respiratory failure Saturday at Mercy Ridge Retirement Community, where she had lived since 2003. She was 88. Elizabeth Hammond Cromwell Denison was born in Baltimore and raised at her family's Hill House Farm on York Road in Timonium. She was a 1936 graduate of Notre Dame Preparatory School and made her debut at the Bachelors Cotillon that year. She owned a horse, Play 'Em, which she rode years ago to visit friends.

On June 10, 2006, ELIZABETH DENISON PINDELL; beloved wife of the late Arthur Yellott Pindell; devoted mother of Peter Rozel Mc Gill Jr., and his wife Joan, Charles Carroll Denison Mc Gill and his wife Mary Welby, Elizabeth Pindell Blue and her husband Henry and Rebecca Pindell Ford and her husband Mike; loving grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 6. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Stella Maris Chapel on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. the family...

Plans to build a religious school in Lothian were dealt a serious blow when the Anne Arundel County Council passed a measure this week that severely limits development along nearly two dozen rural roads in the southern half of the county. County Council Chairman Edward R. Reilly, a Crofton Republican who represents South County, proposed designating 23 roads from Davidsonville to Bristol as scenic and historic to keep schools, country clubs, landfills and other facilities from being built in adjacent rural-agricultural districts.
