Today's Blast Game Blast (7-7) at Philadelphia KiXX (5-7) Time: 4:05 Video: B2TV.com Outlook: The Blast righted the ship with two wins last weekend - the second a 9-0 shutout at Rockford last Sunday - to end a five-game slide, reach the .500 mark and take over third place in the Major Indoor Soccer League. Today provides a chance to get further separation against the fourth-place KiXX, who are coming off a 15-10 loss to the first-place Milwaukee Wave last week.

The Blast, which will begin the Major Indoor Soccer League playoffs Friday, closed the regular season Sunday with a 19-12 loss to the host Philadelphia KiXX. Philadelphia took leads of 10-2 and 14-4 before the Blast rallied to within 14-12 heading into the fourth quarter on two goals by rookie Max Ferdinand , including one on the power play, and one each by Carlos Garcia and Mike Lookingland . Pat Morris ended the Blast's run with a goal at 3:07 of the fourth quarter to put the KiXX on top, 16-12, and Ptah Myers scored a last-minute three-point goal against Baltimore's sixth attacker to hand the Blast the 19-12 loss.

The Baltimore Blast will open its 2005-06 season with a Nov. 11 home game against the expansion California Cougars, the first contest on the 30-game schedule released today. The Blast will play 15 games at 1st Mariner Arena - seven on Friday nights (7:35 p.m.), seven on Saturday nights (7:35 p.m.) and one on Sunday afternoon (5:05 p.m.). The MISL will feature six teams this season - the Blast, Cougars, Philadelphia KiXX, St. Louis Steamers, Chicago Storm and the defending champion Milwaukee Wave.

Today's Blast game Blast (11-8) at Philadelphia KiXX (7-11) Time: 4:05 p.m. Video: B2TV.com Outlook: Milwaukee's 14-12 win over the KiXX on Wednesday assured the Wave first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League, thus locking the Blast into second place as it closes out the regular season on the road. Already set to play third-place Monterrey La RaZa in the league semifinal round, the Blast will look to fine-tune its game to be primed for another strong playoff run. Blast G Sagu, who was suspended for the team's two games last weekend, is eligible to return.

Nine Saturday games, including the opener against the Harrisburg Heat Oct. 24, will highlight the home schedule of the Baltimore Blast this season, the city's 18th in professional indoor soccer.It's the first year back for the Blast, under the ownership of Ed Hale, who purchased the franchise from Bill Stealey, owner of the Spirit the previous six seasons.The team, under the leadership of coach and general manager Kevin Healey, also will play eight Friday night games at the Baltimore Arena.

The Baltimore Blast has postponed Friday night's home game against the Philadelphia KiXX, rescheduling the contest for Saturday, March 13 at 1st Mariner Arena. Game time is set for 7:35 p.m. The bobblehead promotion that was set for Friday's game -- featuring Machel Millwood and Mike Lookingland -- also is rescheduled for March 13.

To access broadcasts, fans can go to www.baltimoreblast.com or www.B2TV.com free of charge. To watch the games, a high-speed Internet connection and a current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player is needed. The Blast's next home game is at 7:35 p.m.. Saturday against the Philadelphia KiXX.

Matchup -- Blast (7-7) at Philadelphia KiXX (7-9) Site -- Wachovia Spectrum Time -- 7:05 Radio -- 680 AM Outlook -- The KiXX, the league's defending champions, have five wins in seven games after losing to the Chicago Storm, 14-8, last night. Because of the loss and a poor start to the season, the KiXX fell below the Blast into seventh place. Goalkeeper Peter Pappas leads the league in save percentage and shut out the Blast, 4-0, the last time the teams met. The Blast won the season opener here, 8-2.

The visiting Philadelphia KiXX kept alive their flickering postseason hopes with an 8-6 overtime victory over the Blast before an announced 6,318 at 1st Mariner Arena. The defeat ended a season-best six-game winning streak for the Blast (11-8), which had already clinched a playoff spot, and was the first victory in the season series for Philadelphia (7-9), a loser to the Blast four times. KiXX goalie Nick Hovaker II made three outstanding saves in the overtime period, when the Blast applied intense pressure before Philadelphia scored the game-winner off a free kick, Semir Mesanovic getting the goal off an assist by Ricardinho . In a makeup of a game originally scheduled for Feb. 12 but postponed because of blizzard conditions that weekend, Baltimore took a 6-4 lead into the waning moments of regulation before a holding penalty against Scott Buete opened the door for the KiXX.

Tonight's Blast game Rockford Rampage (6-11) at Blast (10-7) Time: 7:35 Video: B2TV.com Outlook: The Blast made it five straight with Saturday's 12-11 win over Monterrey, gaining valuable breathing room in second place of the Major Indoor Soccer League and moving just one game behind the Milwaukee Wave (11-6) with three games to play. While the Blast has turned things around (it had lost its previous five games), the Rampage has taken a nose dive into last place with seven straight defeats.

Machel Millwood had a hat trick and seven of his teammates also scored to lead the visiting Blast to a 23-14 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX in the Major Indoor Soccer League. The third-place Blast has won three straight games to improve to 8-7 going into Friday's rematch with the KiXX at 1st Mariner Arena. The Blast put the game away early, taking an 8-0 lead in the first quarter and a 15-2 advantage into halftime. Millwood's hat trick was his second of the season. NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers center Shaquille O'Neal will undergo surgery today to repair his injured right thumb.
