Here's an all-too common scenario at a bar: A random topic - be it essential new-wave albums or Martin Scorsese's best films - comes up and an expert suddenly emerges. The know-it-all rapidly cites a dizzying array of research and anecdotes, all in the name of appearing smarter than everyone else. The person also usually hopes no one double-checks the claims. "You always have somebody who knows way too much about something, but then they hope you're not going to look [facts] up," said Patrick Storck, a 37-year-old living in Belair-Edison.

Jacoby Jones and Karina get the first jazz dance of the season. He says, "I wasn't nervous in the Super Bowl, do you think I'd get nervous for this?" and Karina gives him a shove. She's too smart to pull his finger during rehearsal but he cuts one without help. Karina brings in some friends, a troupe of tiny girls, and yes, Jacoby in their midst is as cute as you'd think. They taunt him mercilessly. They start with Karina on Jacoby's shoulders, under a very tall trenchcoat, in sepiascope.

In the mid- to late-1990s, Scottish singer Shirley Manson and her Wisconsin-based band Garbage were alt-rock darlings, MTV rotation regulars, platinum chart-toppers and a band that had little problem selling out headlining tours. The rush of success that came with two massively popular albums - 1995's self-titled debut (featuring "Stupid Girl") and 1998's follow-up "Version 2.0" (featuring "I Think I'm Paranoid") - raised the band's profile and the expectations of Garbage's record label, Interscope.

Companies would have to adjust the duties of women who can't perform their normal jobs because they are pregnant under legislation passed by the House of Delegates Wednesday. The legislation, which now awaits a vote in the Senate, would require businesses to allow women to do less strenuous jobs because their current work might harm the expectant mom or her baby. Women would be required under the legislation to show proof from a doctor or other health care professional that they need to ratchet down their work.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- After playing a strong World Baseball Classic with the Netherlands, Orioles top position prospect Jonathan Schoop is slated to return to major league camp on Tuesday, where manager Buck Showalter said he intends to get a few more looks at the 21-year-old before optioning him to the minors. “I'd like to get him some at bats here to take a little look at him,” Showalter said Thursday. “We've gotten very few peeks at him.” Schoop, who tied for the Netherlands team lead with 2 homers and 6 RBIs in eight WBC games, initially started at second base for the Netherlands, then moves to third when Jurickson Profar joined the team.
