On December 22, 2007, BRUCE CARL DIETLE, of Kingsville, MD, born 1/19/1924. Husband of the late Susan Belcher Dietle, beloved father of Daryl, Marlin, Melissa Anne Willams and Diane Dietle Pellegrini, grandfather of Brian, Kelsey, Travis, and Elizabeth, great grandfather of Liam. Survived by his sister Ada Goodwin and family. Pre-deceased by brother Sylvester and sister Catherine Deal. Born in Pocahontas, Pa , he spent his early years working at the home farm. A WWII veteran of the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper, fighting in the front lines at the Battle of the Bulge.

After a long illness at the Gilchrist Center Hospice of Baltimore. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 11 A.M. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Ellicott City, MD. Interment at St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marjorie's memory may be made to Hospice of Baltimore, 6601 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21204.

Cristina Pellegrini, Severna Park SPORT TENNIS GIRLS STATS -- After running on the Falcons' cross country and track teams, Pellegrini decided to give tennis a shot as a junior this spring. As a freshman, she ran a leg on the 3,200-meter relay team that finished second in the states. In her first year of tennis, she has been vying for a spot on the girls doubles team. SIDELINES -- Pellegrini is following in the footsteps of her older sister, Carla, who also was an outstanding high school athlete and is now on the Boston College rowing team.

Friends may call at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab Funeral Home, Inc., 736 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD (one-half mile west of beltway exit 14), on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., where a Christian Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 3 P.M. Senior goalkeeper Rich Pellegrini (John Carroll) posted his fourth shutout and 19th of his career as Towson State (6-8-1) beat Virginia Military Institute (3-11-2), 2-0, yesterday in Lexington, Va.The Tigers took a 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the game when freshman Jamie Tuckey scored off a pass from Erik Washington.The Tigers added another goal midway through the second half when junior Pat Coyle scored his team-high eighth goal. Sophomore Todd Hicks (Bowie) earned his 10th assist on the play -- tying the Towson single-season record set by Ricky Bush in 1991.

Towson State University, formerly of the East Coast Conference, had mixed results in its Big South Conference debut during the fall season, but for at least one athlete it was business as usual.It didn't seem to make any difference who presented the opposition, Rich Pellegrini was the dominant soccer goalkeeper.Pellegrini was named the All-Big South goalie after allowing just 22 goals in 19 games. He averaged four saves, and posted four shutouts. The Tigers were 9-9-1, with four losses by 1-0 scores, and a loss in the semifinals of the Big South tournament.

The detective works slowly. The box weighs nearly 75 pounds.The child weighed only 68 pounds.LaTanya Wallace would have been 14 years old next Wednesday, and Pellegrini knows how best to pay homage to the bright-eyed little girl from West Baltimore: He wants to arrest her killer.

Then the former Baltimore homicide detective came to Kosovo, the land of the ethnic hate hit. "In Baltimore, there was usually a reason why people were killed, involving victims having done something to cause their demise," Pellegrini says. "But here, a person may be killed just because of their ethnic background.

Singer-musicians Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Maria Muldaur and Bonnie Bramlett will make cameo appearances in Pellegrini-Finnegan-Willsfield Productions' "Platinum Blues," which rolls March 4 in Los Angeles under the direction of Ed Pellegrini. The music-oriented drama concerns a young musician who returns to the music scene after a gig in prison.Another upcoming film about prison, Concorde's "Inside," starring Don Wilson, should be more realistic than most. Not only is it being filmed on location in the Los Angeles County jail, but one of the writers, Charles Mattera, is himself an ex-con.

Everybody looked very, very clean yesterday at the reunion of the folks who used to shower and bath at the Walters Public Bathhouse No. 1 in Little Italy. Just like when they were kids in the 1930s and took their weekly shower on Friday and Saturday.They looked very clean, very happy and amazingly youthful. There must have been something in the bath water.Back then, people didn't take indoor plumbing for granted. Thousands of homes in Baltimore didn't have indoor toilets let alone showers or bathtubs.
