The point spread for tonight's Miami-Florida State game in Tallahassee seems appropriate. It favors the visiting ninth-ranked Hurricanes by a field goal, quite fitting given how many of the past meetings between these in-state rivals have come down to the foot of a Seminoles kicker. While much of the pre-game chatter this summer has been focused on the inexperience at quarterback, there isn't much likelihood that either Miami sophomore Kyle Wright or Florida State's redshirt freshman duo of Drew Weatherford and Xavier Lee will decide the game at Doak Campbell Stadium.

How much perky can be squeezed into a polo shirt? Or a pair of patterned pants? Ask a Lilly lover. She'll tell you, in those famous pink and green and playful Lilly Pulitzer prints, women are happier, smilier, chirpier. Infinitely so. No matter the season, Lilly Pulitzer enthusiasts are on beach getaways and summer strolls. They're sipping lemonade spritzers and nursing sorbets. They find joy and love and - cloaked in those sherbet-shades - more cheerful, more carefree reflections of themselves.

More assault allegations in Colo. The Denver grand jury that investigated Colorado's football program said two female trainers alleged they were sexually assaulted by an assistant coach, and a slush fund was created with money from coach Gary Barnett's football camp, according to a report leaked to the media. Money was kept in 16 or 17 cash boxes, each managed by a different person with little oversight, according to the grand jury's findings, which were obtained by KUSA-TV and shared with The Denver Post.

PALM BEACH - In a private ceremony that sparked a public spectacle, billionaire Donald Trump got married here Saturday before holding a gala reception at his seaside estate that was bedecked with enough gold, diamonds and celebrity to rival the starry night. The public was not invited to the evening nuptials, but hundreds showed up anyway, lining the roadway in front of Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in hopes of spotting expected guests that included Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Katie Couric and New York Yankee Derek Jeter.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Haitian community leaders in Palm Beach County say that U.S. immigration officials have been sweeping through neighborhoods in Lake Worth, Delray, Rivera and West Palm in recent weeks searching for undocumented immigrants. While the deportations are within the law, civic leaders say enforcement is more aggressive than in the past and fails to distinguish between criminals and those who lack papers but pose no threat to society. Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Adelina Pruneda said the department was not conducting any "enforcement actions" targeting a particular group in Palm Beach County.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - For an 87-year-old man, Harry Weinberg is in pretty good physical shape. When he is not caring for his bedridden wife, he walks in the mornings, and plays golf four times a week. So when he found himself breathless hours after Hurricane Frances pounded his Lake Worth retirement community, that meant things were quite hectic at his house. "I have to keep running into the bedroom to get the phone. The other ones don't work," Weinberg said over the telephone while taking a break from feeding lunch to Jean, his wife.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Hurricane Frances left few parts of Florida untouched yesterday as its slow, cruel crawl across the peninsula left behind flooded roadways, downed power lines, uprooted trees and debris-strewn beaches. As many as 5 million people lost power, and the state's panhandle region braced to take its hit from the storm today. After pummeling parts of Florida's eastern coastline with rain for as long as 30 hours, the storm weakened as it crept west, with winds slowing to about 70 mph. By early evening, Frances was downgraded to a tropical storm as it approached Tampa en route to the Gulf of Mexico.
