In the dugout: Pinch hitter John Kruk was ejected for arguing with plate umpire Brian Onura in the ninth inning over a called strike. Kruk charged out of the dugout after his ejection and had to be restrained by manager Terry Bevington. Ozzie Guillen, the next batter, continued to jaw with Onura, but remained in the game, striking out.On the field: Chicago leadoff hitter Lance Johnson accounted for nearly half of the White Sox's nine hits last night, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a home run in the sixth off Mike Mussina.

Cal Ripken -- UP -- He arrived at No. 2,500 playing to the form that crafted his identity.Bullpen madness -- DOWN -- Cut through spring's happy talk. What was last year's most consistent strength now resembles pot luck. Replacing Arthur Rhodes with Terry Mathews on Thursday was season's biggest shocker. Results were not.Roberto Alomar -- DOWN -- Picked off twice and charged with interference last weekend in Texas. Unusual for one of the game's most alert players.Tractor man -- UP -- Chris Hoiles showed why he is one of this team's most enduring players.

By now, you've heard the news: The Miami Marlins on Tuesday suspended Ozzie Guillen for five games for telling Time magazine he loves and respects Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. I wrote earlier that while I find Guillen's remarks stupid and insensitive -- and completely understand why many people were offended by them -- I thought it was wrong to punish him for them. The Marlins decided to suspend Guillen anyway, and trying to appease the outrage felt by much of the Cuban-American portion of the team's fan base certainly had something to do with that.
