With eight returning starters, including All-Metro Player of the Year Taylor Cummings, the Eagles show no signs of letting up. Look for them to make a strong run at their fourth straight A Conference championship.

Seton Keough Coach: Chuck Snee Last season: 14-2, ranked No. 4 Postseason: IAAM A Conference finalist Outlook: Snee, a four-year assistant, takes over for Jackie Boswell and will compete for the IAAM A Conference title with pitcher Robi Zimmerman, second baseman and leadoff hitter Bridget O'Malley, junior shortstop Hannah Tavik and junior catcher Mikki Kouneski, who led the team with 22 RBIs....

Over the past month, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline has increased 25 cents in Maryland. As far as anyone can tell, the motorists of this state received no particular benefit from the change in price - aside from a lighter wallet or purse. Gasoline prices may rise higher yet, as they often do in the summer months when demand increases. Or, if the political tensions with Iran and its nuclear program dissipate, prices may actually go down as fear of supply interruptions diminishes.

I want to thank Brett Schwartz for the measured and thoughtful response to his mugging at the hands of teenage assailants ("After a mugging, renewed faith in Baltimore," Feb. 29). It takes courage and conviction to keep moving forward and stay positive after such a scary incident. I'd also like to comment on Mr. Schwartz's question about positive outlets available to kids in Baltimore. There are many organizations throughout the city that are fighting the good fight, providing constructive activities and mentors.

Junior attackman Will Manny (10 goals and six assists in 2012) paces a Minutemen offense that is averaging 11.5 goals. Can that unit solve a Buckeyes defense that is surrendering just 7.7 goals despite the absence of redshirt senior defenseman Matt Kawamoto - last year's Defensive Player of the Year in the Eastern College Athletic Conference - and sophomore goalkeeper Greg Dutton ?

Frostburg State Capital Athletic Conference Last season: 6-11 overall, 1-7 league Coach: Tommy Pearce (second season) Outlook: The Bobcats will be led by senior attackman Dan Dowd (Southern), who led the team with 31 goals, and defenseman Zack Hiller, who started 15 games, picked up 24 ground balls and forced eight turnovers. Does anyone who keeps up with the news on a daily basis really believe the jobs picture in Maryland is improving ("Md. jobs picture improves," Dec. 21)?
