A collision in Towson on the outer loop of Interstate 695 at the MD 25 (Falls Road) exit has closed two outer loop traffic lanes at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the state Department of Transportation. Emergency roadwork at U.S. 40 East in Joppatowne prior to Joppa Farm Road has closed the eastbound right shoulder at 7:36 a.m. on Tuesday, according to DOT. The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor MARC train delays at 8:58 a.m.

A three-vehicle collision on the inner loop of Interstate 695 in Towson at the Charles Street exit has closed two inner loop left traffic lanes, the inner loop left shoulder and outer loop left shoulder at 8:56 a.m. on Friday, according to the state Department of Transportation. A single-vehicle crash on MD 97 in Westminster has closed all lanes at MD 32 for nearly two hours after the state Department of Transportation first reported the incident at 7:14 a.m. A disabled vehicle on I-70 East in Woodbine at MD 94 has closed an eastbound traffic lane at 8:20 a.m., DOT said.

As of 8:50 a.m., the rush hour was winding down with just a couple lingering incidents. The Maryland Department of Transportation is reporting that the accident on the outer loop of the Beltway at Loch Raven Boulevard is now cleared. There's still a disabled vehicle on the inner loop of the Beltway at Liberty Road, however, and now there's another in Anne Arundel County on southbound I-97 at Route50. The Maryland Transit Administration is reporting that light rail operating on time, but on the Brunswick line, Train 894 left Frederick 50-60 minutes late due to a mechanical issue while coupling with disabled MARC 890. Additional delays were expected due to a signal issue in the Frederick yard.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, traffic was slow on the outer loop of I-695 at Harford Road, due to an accident. Accidents were slowing traffic at York and West roads in Towson and eastbound I-70 at Marriottsville Road in Howard County. There were no major delays on Baltimore area transit systems.

Three people were killed in a single-car crash on a ramp at the intersection of two major Baltimore freeways Tuesday afternoon, State Police said. Early investigation suggested the vehicle was traveling southbound on Interstate 83 when, for reasons which have not been determined, it left the roadway and went into a heavily wooded area on the left side of the road and then struck a large tree, police said. The impact of the crash caused the car to break into pieces. Police received a call at around 4 p.m. from a citizen who said he saw a vehicle off the roadway on the southbound I-83 ramp on to the outer loop of Interstate 695 in Timonium, but the exact time of the accident is not known, according to a news release.

A highway worker was killed Friday afternoon in an accident on the inner loop of Interstate 695 near Liberty Road in Baltimore County, according to police and highway officials. John C. Kahl, 54, of Port Deposit was completing landscaping for a State Highway Administration project in the Pikesville area when the collision occurred about 2 p.m., said Maryland State Police Sgt. Marc, Black, Sr. Kahl was employed by Erosion Control & Landscape Service, a subcontractor for the highway administration.

An Owings Mills man was killed Sunday morning after his car crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on the Baltimore Beltway in Pikesville, officials said. Bennie Lee Shaw Jr., 34, was driving on the outer loop of the Beltway near Greenspring Avenue at 4:36 a.m. when his 2005 Audi A8 rear-ended a 1999 International tractor trailer, according to the Maryland State Police. Shaw was trapped in the car and was rescued by Baltimore County firefighters, but was declared dead at the scene, according to the Maryland State Police.

The state Department of Transportation reported a disabled vehicle in Parkville on the outer loop of Interstate 695 at the MD 147 (Harford Road) exit at 7:08 a.m. on Wednesday. No additional information was given. The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor MARC train delays at 7:15 a.m.
