On November 8, 2003 CHARLES F. OREM SR., beloved husband of Jane E. Orem (nee Ditzel) devoted father of Charlene Thomas, Charles A. Orem and Cathleen Flayhart, loving grandfather of Joshua, T.J., Alyssa, Tyler, Sean and Taylor. Friends are invited to call at the Burgee-Henss-Seitz Funeral Home Inc., 3631 Falls Rd., on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Services on Tuesday at 10 A.M. Interment in Lakeview Memorial Park.

Orem "Jerry" Wahl, the co-owner of a Mount Vernon framing shop who was a theater first-nighter, died of a heart attack Saturday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was 73. Pat Moran, a friend and film casting agent, said he was stricken while in the lobby of his home, the St. Paul at Chase condominium. Born in Baltimore and raised in East Baltimore, he was a 1955 Patterson High School graduate. As a child he was a drum major and performed in local theater. Friends said he spent his childhood weekend afternoons at the old State Theatre on East Monument Street where vaudeville acts played alongside films.

On April 30, 2006, ELLSWORTH M. OREM of Edgewood, MD beloved husband of the late Katherine R. Orem (nee Hall); devoted father of Dennis D. Orem and his wife Shirley A. Orem, Richard B. Orem and his wife Laura L. Orem. Also survived by five grandchildren Nicholas T. Orem, Christopher D. Orem, Bradley R. Orem, Kimberly A. Shirey and Micah J. Orem. A service will be held in the family owned Mc Comas Funeral Home, P.A., Abingdon, MD on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home in Abingdon on Wednesday and Thursday, May 3 and 4, from 7-9 p.m. both days.

On Wednesday, April 7, 2004, FRANCES ELIZABETH OREM; beloved wife of the late Bernard E. Orem, Sr.; devoted mother of Carol A. Vrsalovich and Bernard E. Orem, Jr.; remembered sister of Rosalie Brann and Mary Majka. Also survived by her three grandchildren, Colleen, Matthew and Audrey Orem. The family will receive visitors at the Singleton Funeral Home, P.A., 1 Second Avenue S. W. (at Crain Hwy), Glen Burnie, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, at 9 A.M. in the funeral home chapel.

Ethel Lane Orem, a retired children's clothing store owner and bookkeeper, died in her sleep Saturday at Schuyler House, a Church Hill assisted-living community. She was 96. Miss Orem was born and raised in Chestertown. After graduating in the mid-1920s from Chestertown High School, she earned a business degree from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Del. She went to work for her father, who had established H.D. Orem and Son, a Case tractor dealership, in Chestertown in 1901. She took a job in the 1940s with Wee Togs Children's Clothing in Centreville.

Francis Ebert Orem, retired owner of medical supply businesses, died of cancer Sunday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. The Idlewylde resident was 83. Born in Baltimore and raised on James Street and in Annapolis, he attended West Annapolis High School. He earned a law degree at the old Mount Vernon School of Law. During World War II, he served in the Army Signal Corps in England, North Africa and Italy. After working at the Murray-Baumgartner medical supply house in Mount Vernon and at a Washington medical supply firm, he and a partner founded Skill Surgical Co. in 1957.

Reginald Calvert Orem, a retired Cambridge newspaper editor, bon vivant, bibliophile and opera buff, died Sunday at Dorchester General Hospital of heart failure. He was 89.Known as a man of refined tastes and charm who regularly indulged his passion for the printed word, he was known for his daily visits to the Dorchester County Public Library.The rhythmic tapping of his walking stick could be heard striking the ancient red bricks of High Street, the oldest street in Cambridge, as he made his regular midmorning passage to the library.
