Selig says A. Rodriguez 'shamed the game' baseball Bud Selig said New York Yankees star third baseman Alex Rodriguez has "shamed the game," though the baseball commissioner indicated no plans to punish the three-time American League Most Valuable Player. Players and owners didn't agree to a joint drug program until August 2002, and testing with punishment didn't start until 2004.

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston said during an evidentiary hearing yesterday in San Francisco that she was leaning toward excluding the results, from 2000 and 2001, seized by investigators during a Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative raid unless there is direct testimony tying the urine samples to Bonds.
