Winters Mill senior center Olivia Fajardo leads the county in scoring with a 15 points-per-game average, and she is in a battle for the county rebounding lead with 8.5 per game. At 6 feet 1, she also averages two blocked shots for the Falcons (5-12). What is it like to be leading the county in scoring and in a duel for the rebounding lead? It's an honor. Olivia Banks Lee, as she was fondly called by family and friends, will be honored on Friday, February 8th at 9:30am at St. John A.M.E. Church.

Mason and Olivia were the top baby names at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson last year. The hospital delivered 4,254 babies in 2011 and 34 were named Mason and 33 Olivia. The couple -- both Sunday school teachers -- are on home detention, freed from jail Monday on $50,000 property bonds after being charged with manslaughter, first-degree child abuse resulting in death, and reckless endangerment. An autopsy report says their adopted 8-year-old Russian-born son, the youngest of seven children they were raising and home-schooling, died in January of starvation -- a finding disputed yesterday by Samuel Merryman's mother, who called the charges "totally false" and maintained that young Dennis Merryman's death was the result of one of his many ailments.

On October 25, 2007, David H. McCall, 90, in Mesa, Arizona. Beloved husband of 65 years of Olivia (nee Gunkel); loving father of Richard, Stephen, Susan, Lisa, and five grandchildren. A service was held in Mesa, where the couple has resided for 15 years. Contributions in his memory may be made to Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, UT.
