A Baltimore police officer who resigned after being convicted of assaulting a 13-year-old relative in 2008 was arrested against this week and charged with a similar offense, according to a police department spokesman. Troy Jaquan Gee, 37, of the 5400 block of Sagra Ave. in Northeast Baltimore was charged Monday with two sex offenses and one count each of attempted rape and assault. He was ordered Tuesday held without bail at the city detention center. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the incident occurred in December while a young relative was at home over winter break.

The Baltimore County Police Department has escalated its war against criminals by switching to a new 9 mm bullet that mushrooms on impact, exposing razor-sharp claws designed to cause extensive bodily damage.The county police department is the first in the state and one of approximately 100 nationwide to use Black Talon bullets manufactured by the Winchester Ammunition Co.E. Jay Miller, a county police spokesman, said the department began switching to the Black Talon in April and by year's end, all of its officers will be armed with the new ammunition.

Annapolis Police Officer Keith L. Brown was fired yesterday, two weeks after a police trial board found him guilty of charges stemming from his failure to keep his K-9 dog on a leash during a drunken disturbance at an Annapolis American Legion Post.Officer Brown could not be reached last night for comment.

A Baltimore police officer shot at a burglary suspect yesterday after a car pursuit that ended with a crash on railroad tracks in Westport, a department spokesman said. The man being chased was not hit by the shot fired by Southern District Officer Richard S. Boblitz, but was caught and arrested by other officers. Police officials said Boblitz fired his 9 mm Glock when the suspect refused repeated demands to take his hands out of his pockets. It was the second such incident this week.

A Baltimore County police officer trying to find at least five cars stolen within 30 minutes this morning from the Garrison area shot at a suspected car thief in the city, apparently shattering the rear window of an Acura Legend.Police were still investigating the incident this morning, but they believe the latest thefts are connected to a group of juvenile car thieves that has been targeting the Green Spring Valley, Owings Mills and Towson areas since late spring.About 8 a.m., two county officers driving an unmarked white Oldsmobile pulled up beside the stolen Acura in the 2600 block of E. North Ave. When the passenger pointed a dark handgun at their car, Detective Thomas Lau said he fired one shot after hearing a loud bang.

A 56-year-old man who drove around a police roadblock was injured Friday after an officer shot at his back window, causing him to lose control of his pickup truck and crash off Interstate 83 in Hampden, police said. Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III said that he was concerned about the shooting and that investigators are trying to determine why the officer fired the shot after the vehicle was heading away from him. The driver, who was not identified, was injured either by broken glass or bullet fragments, police said.

Baltimore police said a traffic accident Friday afternoon at Interstate 83 and Falls Road happened moments after a motorist drove at an officer, who fired his weapon. Detective Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman, said the officer was blocking traffic on West 28 t h Street near the ramp to northbound I-83 about 1 p.m. when the driver of the vehicle attempted to maneuver past the officer. Silbert said the officer discharged his weapon. It was not clear whether the driver was struck, but the vehicle continued onto I-83, then crashed after exiting onto Falls Road.

An Anne Arundel County police officer shot at a car Tuesday as it sped into him, but police said they do not know whether the bullet wounded anyone. Lt. James Fredericks said police were called to the 2000 block of Tea Island Court in Odenton about 4 a.m. for reports of two men going through vehicles. The officer fired at a KIA Sportage before it knocked him down, Fredericks said. Two people fled from the sport utility vehicle when it stopped nearby, and one was captured by other officers.

County Executive Robert R. Neall has fired his chief administrative officer, citing delays in completing projects he had been supervising.Dennis H. Parkinson has been placed on administrative leave until Nov. 1, when he will be taken off the county payroll. Steven Welkos, the county's director of finance, has been named the acting chief administrative officer."The county executive felt that Dennis' operating style was not conducive to some of the things he wants to achieve over the next year in county government," said Louise Hayman, a spokeswoman for Mr. Neall.
