Gaigler and the late Sharon L. Gaigler. Also nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service on Thursday at 11 A.M. at Community Church in Ocean Pines. Friends may call at Ullrich Funeral Home, Rt. 50, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M.

On Thursday August 26, of Ocean Pines, MD formerly of Baltimore; husband of Batty C.; father of Brian E. (Yukari) of Guam, Stephen W. of Seattle, WA, Michael Mc Crea (Diane) of Freeland, MD, Kelly Anne Burns (Jim) of Stockbridge, VT and Colleen M. Hall (Dan) of Chapel Hill, NC; grandfather of five. Mr. Mc Dermott retired in 1992 from Ward Machinery in Hunt Valley where he was the manager of Engineering CAD Systems. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, at 11 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Ocean Pines.

William Joseph Thomas, A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11211 Beauchamp Rd., Ocean Pines, MD 21811 or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Gerri Harrison, 337 Winter Quarters Dr., Pocomoke, MD 21851.

Alexis and Daniel Sassi , of Columbia, announce the birth of their son, Domonic Daniel Sassi , on Aug. 18, 2011, at 3:45 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces. His sister is Annabel. His grandparents are Richard and Patricia Marchesiello, of Ocean Pines; and Douglas and Gretchen Sassi, of Still Pond.

S. George McKeown Sr., a retired executive and volunteer, died Tuesday of lung cancer at his home in Ocean Pines. He was 70 and had lived in Timonium until 1996. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. McKeown was a 1955 graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He worked for Yale Industrial Trucks in Philadelphia and, beginning in 1958, in Baltimore. After Yale became a division of Eaton Industries, Mr. McKeown bought the Baltimore Yale franchise, which dealt primarily in forklifts.

Catherine W. Noon, a registered nurse who headed the purchasing department at the old Church Home and Hospital in East Baltimore, died of kidney failure Wednesday at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. She was 93. Born and raised in Princess Anne, Catherine Wharton was a graduate of Princess Anne High School and, in 1929, Church Home's nursing school. She worked as a private-duty registered nurse from 1929 until 1956, when she was named head of the hospital's purchasing department. She retired in 1974.

A memorial service for Conrad A. Smith, a CPA and retired deputy Baltimore County auditor, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Ullrich Funeral Home in Berlin.Mr. Smith, who moved from Parkville to Ocean Pines nine years ago after he retired, died Monday of cancer at Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury. He was 72.A native of Ogden, Utah, who worked for banks in California before coming to Baltimore in 1955, he graduated with honors from the Baltimore College of Commerce and was associated briefly with an accounting firm before starting a 22-year career with the county.

JAMES M. GROVES, 82 of Dundalk, MD/Ocean Pines, MD died February 28, 2006 at his home in Ocean Pines. Mr. Groves was a World War II and Korean War Veteran and retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer after 42 years of service. Mr. Groves served in the United States Army Air Force and the United Air Force for 23 years and the United States Army for an additional 19 years. He was a life member of Patapsco Masonic Lodge 183, a life member of American Legion Post 38 and a life member of the Reserve Officers Association.
