The jackpot on this week's Maryland Lotto game has climbed to an estimated $8 million after Saturday night's drawing failed, for the third week in a row, to produce a winner.The winning numbers drawn Saturday night were 2, 27, 29, 32, 43, 49.Lottery spokeswoman Elyn Garrett said 11 people correctly matched five of the six winning numbers; they are to collect $77 each.Another ,727 bettors matched four of the six numbers drawn Saturday night. Their tickets are each worth $9.

No one has won the Powerball jackpot since February so there is a roll over jackpot of $320 million up for grabs. The unofficial winning numbers drawn Saturday night were 17, 29, 31, 52 and 53. The Powerball was 31. Drawing results are pending. Meanwhile a winning ticket for last weekend's draw worth $1 million that was sold at the Thunderhead Bowl and Grill in Taneytown is still floating around. Lottery officials say winners have 182 days to come forward to claim their prize. The jackpot in tomorrow's drawing of the twice-weekly Maryland Lotto game has been increased to $8.5 million after Saturday's drawing failed to produce a winner.Lottery spokeswoman Elyn Garrett said the numbers drawn Saturday night were 3, 9, 15, 20, 28, 29.The lottery spokeswoman said 103 people correctly matched five of the six winning numbers; they are to collect $844 each.Another 4,817 bettors matched four of the six numbers drawn Saturday night. Each of their tickets is worth $31.Lotto sales for the drawing totaled $2,172,835.

Charrlene Cebrianwarned her boss at Steve's Lunch in Cross Street Market on Wednesday that she might not come into work for her next shift. The Powerball player was just one of millions who hoped the 11 p.m. drawing would bring them the $588 million jackpot. Though the odds of winning were astronomical - one in more than 175 million - the money convinced many to join in. The hefty jackpot jumped almost $200 million Wednesday with the increase in sales as more players bought the small sheets of paper bearing what they hoped would be the winning numbers, which turned out to be 05 16 22 23 29 with a Powerball of 06. Winning tickets were purchased in Arizona and Missouri, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association.

Stolen car is said to contain pacemakersA 1990 Lincoln that was stolen in Baltimore Saturday night contained $250,000 worth of medical equipment for heart patients, a Pasadena man told city police.Joseph T. Murphy of Bayside Drive in Pasadena said his auto was stolen from the 100 block of West Mount Royal Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Saturday while he was attending a theater performance.Inside the car, he said, were implantable pacemakers that would be of no use to a car thief.Police were searching for the vehicle last night.

Brooklyn Park soldier has won last night's $6 million Maryland Lotto drawing.Lottery spokesman Carroll H. Hynson Jr. said Sgt. Frances K. Rogers, 38, who serves with a recruitment unit at Fort Meade, purchased the winning ticket. She said she will share her winnings with a close friend, Sharon Taylor, 41, of Severn, a Desert Storm veteran now working in Rogers' unit as a civilian marketing representative.They'll collect 20 annual payments of about $290,000 each, before taxes.The winning numbers drawn last night were 10, 13, 14, 24, 26 and 27.There were 34 tickets sold matching five of the six winning numbers.

Thousands of prospective millionaires lined up to buy their chance at last night's $10 million El Gordo fortune, but in the end, only one will lay claim to the big money.His or her number: 2185023.In addition, contestants with ticket numbers 960207 and 129845 will be able each to claim $1 million as the result of last night's drawing. Smaller winnings were gleaned by those with tickets bearing the five-digit number, 83314; the four-digit, 3171; the three-digit, 652; and the two-digit, 65.Since Thursday, about 400,000 of the $5 tickets were sold, bringing the total to nearly 2.2 million tickets sold, lottery officials said.
