Two men were shot in separate incidents in Northwest Baltimore on Monday night, and both had injuries that were non-life-threatening, police said. In one case, a man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand. Investigators believe he was shot about 6 p.m. in the 5600 block of Belle Avenue, police said. The other shooting was at about 10 p.m. in the 2800 block of Boarman Avenue, and the victim walked into an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Police did not have further information on the shootings late Monday.

A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death Wednesday evening in the Northwest Baltimore neighborhood of Central Park Heights, city police said. The stabbing occurred about 8:30 p.m. in an apartment in the 3500 block of Woodland Ave., police said Thursday. The victim, identified as Christopher Gilliam, was stabbed in the neck, torso and thigh, and died at 9:21 p.m. at Sinai Hospital. Police said a woman was taken into custody, and described her as a person of interest, but said no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.

Baltimore police were investigating a double shooting Thursday night near the intersection of Dolfield and Fernhill avenues. Two men were shot, according to police, who reported the shootings around 10:45 p.m. Investigators and rescue workers were at the scene. A firefighter suffered a minor shoulder injury while battling a two-alarm blaze in a vacant, three-story apartment building in Northwest Baltimore on Wednesday evening, according to a Fire Department spokesman. Firefighters were first dispatched to the 3700 block of Fords Lane in the city's Glen neighborhood about 6:17 p.m. for reports of flames, and found fire and smoke coming from the building's third floor, said Chief Kevin Cartwright, the spokesman. Firefighters entered the building, which "looks like it may have been an apartment building some time ago" but is unoccupied, Cartwright said, and began hosing down the flames.

One man died after a double shooting in Northwest Baltimore late Monday night and police were investigating two additional shootings, police said Anthony Carr, 52, had returned home from work and was sitting on his porch in the 2900 block of Edgecombe Circle South at about 11 p.m., said police spokesman Donny Moses. Witnesses said a group of males walked up and were talking to Carr when two men began shooting at the group, Moses said. When police arrived, they found Carr suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg and torso.

They first met in college - where he played halfback for the football team and she was homecoming queen. Donald and Jennye worked together on civil rights issues and remained friends after he graduated from what was then Morgan State College in 1956. After his first wife died of cancer in 1987, he was principal at Greenspring Junior High School and she was the assistant principal. They married, and Donald E.L. Patterson Sr. and Jennye Patterson lived in his house in Northwest Baltimore.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back of the head inside a home in the Gwynn Oak area of Northwest Baltimore early on Wednesday morning, according to Baltimore Police. The teen, who has not been identified, was listed in critical condition at an area hospital on Wednesday, said Detective Angela Carter Watson, a police spokeswoman. Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 4000 block of Eldorado Avenue, on the border between the city's Howard Park and Dorchester neighborhoods, just after midnight and located the injured teen inside a home.

A 38-year-old Baltimore man has been charged in the murder of a 32-year-old city HIV outreach worker who he said he met on an online dating site, after being taken into custody Saturday driving her vehicle with blood stains on his clothes. Monte Carter told detectives that he had been doing heroin and cocaine for days, driving around the city in Jennifer Conyers' 2004 Ford Mustang and using her ATM card to buy things that could be traded for more drugs, according to charging documents.

A 19-year-old man was shot in northwest Baltimore early Tuesday morning, according to a Baltimore Police spokesman. The man was standing in the 3800 block of W. Belvedere Avenue, in the Arlington neighborhood, when he was approached by the suspect at about 12:35 a.m., said spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. The suspect asked the victim if he had any marijuana, and when he said no, the suspect shot him in the chest, the spokesman said. The victim's father and the victim flagged down police as they were headed to the hospital, Guglielmi said.
