Management at Prestige Cablevision Channel 3 is going through a major shake-up, with the resignations last week of General Manager Chuck Kunaniec and News Director John C. "Rip" Jeppi Jr.Herschel Wisebram, director of local programming for Prestige Cable in Cartersville,Ga., cited "philosophical differences" behind Kunaniec's resignationJuly 9."He served us well for a number of years and deserves credit for the station's expansion and improvement in programming," Wisebram said."But there were some philosophical differences in the way I wanted things run and the way he wanted to do them."

Channel 45 (WBFF) has taken a major step toward its first news operation, choosing a news director for the 10 o'clock program expected to debut in the spring of 1991.Mark Pimentel will begin part-time work at the station next week, and full-time within a month as the Fox affiliate gears up for its planned nightly newscast, currently called "The News at Ten."In the next few months, Pimentel will be responsible for developing the structure of the station's news department as well as hiring personnel and coming up with a budget.

After nine years at WMAR-TV, news director Gary Wordlaw is leaving to take over the news operation at WJLA-TV in Washington.Mr. Wordlaw's last day at Channel 2 will be Oct. 23. No successor has yet been named, according to Arnold J. Kleiner, WMAR's president and general manager."
