College soccer Navy women extend streak to 15 with OT win Freshman Kaylie Davidson scored in overtime to send host Navy past Lehigh, 1-0, on Sunday as the Midshipmen (15-1, 3-0 Patriot League) won their 15th straight game, the longest active women's soccer winning streak in the nation. Junior midfielder Brittany Fruin sent a corner kick into the box in the closing minutes of the first overtime, and sophomore defender Jade Seabrook headed the ball to Davidson, who struck the ball on the volley into the right side of the net at 98:30.

John Haus had a career-high six points for the Terps , but No. 7 Maryland lost, 13-11, to No. 12 Colgate on Saturday. The visiting Terrapins (9-5) led 9-7 with 2:08 remaining in the third quarter, but the Raiders (13-3) scored twice in the last 38seconds of the third to tie the game at 9. Colgate scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to lead 11-9 with 12:28 to play. Michael Shakespeare trimmed the deficit to one with his first goal of the game with 9:43 to go, but Ryan Walsh scored an unassisted goal with 3:46 to play to give the Raiders a 12-10 lead.

The Navy women's lacrosse team spent the bulk of this season tearing through the overmatched and underwhelming Patriot League. The Towson men's lacrosse team scored in the second overtime to win, 10-9, against host Hofstra on Saturday. The Tigers (6-3, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) trailed 9-3 with 12:04 left in the fourth quarter but went on a 7-0 run to beat the Pride (4-5, 1-2). Thomas DeNapoli tied the game with two seconds left in regulation, and Justin Mabus had the final score with 38 seconds remaining in the second overtime. No. 17 Navy proved its resilience Wednesday night. Coming off a 20-8 loss to top-ranked Northwestern on Sunday, the Mids women's lacrosse team (11-2) opened with a big run and won, 15-5, over California. After trading goals in the opening six minutes, the Mids scored four straight to take a 5-1 lead. Jess Fellows scored on a free-position shot to end the spurt with 5:48 left in the first half. The Golden Bears (4-5) scored the next two before Navy went on an 8-0 run that spanned both halves.

Men's college lacrosse No. 16 Villanova shocks No. 7 Syracuse, 11-10   No. 16 Villanova made history with an 11-10 win over host Syracuse on Sunday, handing the Orange (4-3, 2-1) its first-ever Big East Conference loss since the league was formed for men's lacrosse in 2010. Villanova (5-3, 1-0 Big East) also broke a four-game winless streak against Syracuse. The game featured seven lead changes and six ties as the Wildcats came back from a two-goal halftime deficit.

Boasting a lineup that includes four sophomore starters, the Navy women's basketball team has dealt with plenty of ups and downs this season. After Saturday's 57-48 win over Holy Cross, however, the Midshipmen found their new high point — standing atop a ladder, cutting down the nets at Alumni Hall. Six-foot sophomore Jade Geif finished with a career-high 22 points and the Midshipmen held the Crusaders to two field goals over the final 13:06 in the finals of the Patriot League tournament before an announced 1,704.

Shawntae Payne scored 17 points and Crystal Whittington had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Coppin State in a 76-37 opening-round win in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Monday. Coppin State (19-11, 13-3 MEAC), got 13 points from Jeanine Manley and 12 from Leola Spotwood. Coppin State advances to the tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, when it will meet North Carolina A&T at 2:30 p.m. The 39-point victory marked Coppin State's largest-ever in MEAC tournament play.

Devin Price hit 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions for Marist, breaking a 49-49 tie and sparking a 19-1 run as Marist defeated visiting Loyola on Wednesday night, 72-54. The Greyhounds (19-7 overall, 12-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led by two with 7:22 left in the game when Dylon Cormier (Cardinal Gibbons) made a pair of free throws, but the Red Foxes (10-16, 5-10) tied the score 19 seconds later when Chavaughn Lewis threw a lob pass that Adam Kemp finished with a dunk.
