When Chris Napora's name appears in Glen Burnie's lineup, it's usually for one reason: to hit.Yesterday at No. 3 Severna Park, she had the two biggest hits, drilling a triple to deep center field and com-ing around to score on a poor relay throw, then lining a three-run homer in the $H seventh to break open a close game.Coupled with the tough pitching of junior Denise Warren, who allowed just four hits and struck out six, No. 6 Glen Burnie ended Severna Park's winning steak at seven games with a 4-0 victory.

Girls lacrosse Player of the Year Carly Napora McDonogh The area's top line defender excelled in every way for a team that allowed just 6.9 goals per game. Quick and fearless, Napora stood up to 11 charging foes this season and took 43 charges during her Eagles career. The senior had the quick feet and controlled stick to contain attackers one-on-one, but she also had the field sense and anticipation to slip easily into the slides. For No. 3 Glen Burnie, yesterday's game at No. 2 Severna Park produced a win, a loss and confidence that another victory is forthcoming. The Gophers rallied for three runs in the sixth inning, two coming on a single by Chris Napora, and held on for a 3-2 win.
