(nee Herring), beloved wife of the late John Calvin Nall; loving mother of Ronald Bartee, Calvin Nall, Melvin Nall, Carmen Mc Cone, Carolyn Wilhelm and Connie Nall; loving grandmother of twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Predeceased by grandson Robert Bartee. Survived by two sisters, Tina Caples and Clarene Beach. Friends may call at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME OF DUNDALK, P.A., 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Tuesday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, 11 A.M. Interment Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.

Dwayne Porter scored at the 12-minute mark of overtime to lift the host Kentucky Stickhorses to an 11-10 win over the Baltimore Bombers on Sunday afternoon at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky. The loss dropped the Bombers (3-2) to second place in the North American Lacrosse League behind the Boston Rockhoppers, who defeated the Rhode Island Kingfish, 20-7, on Saturday. Forward Matt Hickman (Salisbury) scored the final four goals for the Bombers on Sunday, including one that tied it at 10 with 5:46 left; he finished with a game-high five points.

The Baltimore Bombers scored the final five goals Sunday to win their first-ever home game, 12-8 over the Rhode Island Kingfish at Du Burns Arena. With the Bombers trailing 8-7, captain Dan Marohl (St. Mary's, UMBC) started the run by scoring off a feed from former Stevenson men's assistant coach Jordan Kenney with 6:52 left. Devan Spilker put the Bombers in front 48 seconds later with an unassisted tally on a spectacular diving shot across the front of the goal crease. Kenney, a forward, capped the scoring on a pick-and-roll play with former Baltimore Bayhawk Matt Alrich (Calvert Hall)

AUSTIN, Texas -- Towson's Anita Nall won her second gold medal here last night in winning the 100-meter breaststroke of the Phillips 66 National Swimming Championships at the University of Texas.Nall finished in a time of 1 minute, 9.65 seconds. Kelli King of St. Louis finished second in 1:10.31 and Megan Kliene of Lexington, Ky., was third at 1:10.99.The race was expected to be a battle between Nall and Kliene, both members of the 1992 U.S. Olympic team. But Nall led the entire race and finished fairly strong.

William Donald Schaefer briefly stepped out of character yesterday, and instead of answering questions, he asked them.His subject: Anita Nall, the Towson Catholic Prep sophomore who this month broke the world 200-meter breaststroke record and qualified for the U.S. team that will compete in the Olympics this summer in Barcelona, Spain.Accompanied by her mother Marilyn, three classmates and Towson Catholic principal Andy Dotterweich, Nall was here to accept a certificate, The Governor's Salute to Excellence, presented by Schaefer before a news conference.

At the age of 14, Anita Nall is swimming in fast company.The Towson High student and North Baltimore Aquatic Club member registered the third fastest time in American history in the 200-meter breaststroke in winning the event at the U.S. Open swimming meet Sunday in Indianapolis.Her time of 2:30.53 ranks only behind those of Amy Shaw (2:29.58 in 1987) and Tracey McFarlane (2:29.82 in 1988) in the United States. Since August, when she posted a 2:34.73 in the 200 breaststroke, Nall has risen from No. 39 to No. 7 in the world.

Anita Nall, who won three swimming medals in the 1992 Olympics, is back for a second term with the North Baltimore Aquatic Club.Her good health has returned and she has a new sense of urgency to prepare for next year's Olympics in Atlanta.Last summer, after five years in Baltimore marked by the Olympic medals and a world record in the 200-meter breaststroke, Nall returned to her native Harrisburg, Pa., to rejoin her old coach, Ed Fraser. In her last few years here, she was hindered by a series of upper respiratory infections that developed into chronic mononucleosis, and she finally decided she couldn't fully recover and still meet NBAC coach Murray Stephens' demanding training regimen.

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Anita Nall said she felt really good when she jumped in the water the first day of the U.S. Swimming Spring National Championships.Yesterday, Nall, a 14-year-old ninth grader from Towson, Md., was named performer of the meet.Nall didn't make quite the splash yesterday she had her first two events. Nall, who swims for the North Baltimore Aquatic Club, established herself earlier in the meet as the premier women's breast-stroker in the United States, winning the 100- and 200-meter events.

Grace Arnold Nalls, a retired commercial artist and stage performer, died of congestive heart failure July 30 at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Towson. The Homeland resident was 82. Born Grace Lucille Arnold in Baltimore and raised in Forest Park, she was a 1947 Eastern High School graduate and performed in school plays. She received a diploma from the Maryland Institute College of Art and earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. As a young woman, she worked as a commercial artist at the old Reliable Stores on West Baltimore Street.

When Towson native Anita Nall swam her way to silver, bronze and gold medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, she was 16. Nall, now 31, graduated in 1994 from Towson Catholic High and then attended Towson University. In 2000, she moved to Tempe, Ariz., and five years later, graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and Spanish from Arizona State University. "I continued to swim until the 2000 Olympic trials, which was the last time that I did that," Nall said the other day. "Now, I'm a certified life coach, and I'm working on my holistic nutrition certification at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe."

Anita Nall is 15, and talks of her first prom, her last report card and her next birthday.She is a kid from Towson who likes to hang out at a mall with her friends. She is a star who plows through an interview schedule that would test even the voice of Ross Perot.This weekend, she'll appear in the North Baltimore Aquatic Club invitational swim meet at the Meadowbrook pool in Mount Washington. Next month, she'll be in Barcelona, Spain, a young woman reaching for a swimming gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
