The Senate is in recess until July 6 and the House until July 13. Here is how members of Maryland's delegation on Capitol Hill were recorded on important roll-call votes last week:Y: Yes N: No X: Not votingHouse: Campaign FinanceVoting 155 for and 254 against, members refused to weaken the leading campaign-finance bill, a measure sponsored by Christopher Shays, R-Conn., and Martin T. Meehan, D-Mass. In part, their bill would ban unregulated "soft money" contributions to political parties, restrict broadcast commercials by interest groups in the closing weeks of congressional races and limit House members' use of the franking, or free-postage, privilege to help their re-election bids.
