Yes, Michael Phelps has a new love interest. Phelps, 28, stepped out with date Win McMurry, also 28, at Wednesday's ESPY Awards, and we're naturally curious about here. We're assuming you are, too.The pair has reportedly been dating since June. 1. She works for the Golf Channel Confession: We've never watched the Gold Channel. But we may now. Murry `Joe' Plant, 74, owned drywall company Murry "Joe" Plant, a former railroad worker who owned a painting and drywall installation company, died of heart failure yesterday at Chapel Hill Nursing Center in Randallstown. He was 74. A former longtime resident of Milford Mill, he had lived in Rockdale since the late 1990s. Mr. Plant was born and reared in El Campo, Texas, and after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army in 1948. He served as an instructor with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, N.C. After being discharged as a sergeant in 1952, he moved to Baltimore and went to work as a brakeman for the Western Maryland Railway.

Six years ago, at Catholic University in Washington, there was an unusual presentation of Giuseppe Verdi's monumental Requiem for soloists, chorus and orchestra. The last notes of the score gave way to very different music, coming softly from the choristers. As they filed off the stage and left the hall, they softly intoned a chant from the Kaddish of the Jewish liturgy. When those sounds, too, faded away, there was no applause from the audience. Only some muffled sobs could be heard in the darkened room.
