Baltimore County police officers from several precincts were called to the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium on Saturday after the promoter of a weekend motorcycle show said he asked a gang to leave. The Pagans, a rival of the Hells Angels, were asked to leave by the organizers of the Timonium Motorcycle Show about 1 p.m., police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said in an email. She said additional police support was requested because the department was concerned about a possible confrontation after the Hells Angels were displaying their colors, which motorcycle clubs were told not to do during the event.

Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith jogged by himself up and down the sideline Sunday night at M&T Bank Stadium, a solemn moment for him following the death of his younger brother. It was a solitary time for Smith shortly after rejoining his teammates four hours before kickoff against the New England Patriots. And it was less than 18 hours after Smith learned that his brother, Tevin Jones, had died when his motorcycle struck a utility pole in the Montross area of Virginia, Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson told The Baltimore Sun. After wiping a tear away from his eye before the first quarter, Smith, who had traveled to Virginia early Sunday morning to be with his family prior to returning to Baltimore for the game, went to work on the Patriots' defense.

A little over a month after its proposal to outlaw the motorcycle grip in men's lacrosse came under a firestorm of criticism, the NCAA announced Thursday that the grip will remain legal while also giving updates on other proposals. The next step in the process is a review by the Playing Rules Oversight Panel (PROP). The weeks since the original proposal last month have been what Rules Committee chairman Jon Hind described as the “reconsideration and consideration” phase, accepting feedback from those affected by the new proposalsand considering changes before submitting to PROP.

A motorcylist was killed in a crash near the York Road exit on I-83 in Parkton late Saturday afternoon after attempting to pass two cars by driving between them, according to the Maryland State Police. Troopers investigating the incident about 4:00 p.m. determined that the driver, 19-year-old Kareem Morsi of Woodbine, had been heading north on a white 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle when he tried to pass the two vehicles.
