Boonsboro man, 24, dies in I-695 motorcycle crash A 24-year-old Boonsboro man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail on a Baltimore Beltway off-ramp in Glen Burnie late Wednesday night, Maryland State Police said. Robert Dabbondanza's motorcycle slipped through the guardrail and slid about 130 feet on the off-ramp from Interstate 695 to Route 2, police said. It was unclear yesterday whether he had been wearing a helmet. Dabbondanza was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where he was pronounced dead shortly after the 11:50 p.m. accident, police said.

A 42-year-old Burtonsville man was killed yesterday afternoon when he was thrown from his motorcycle after it hit an embankment on Old Scaggsville Road near Bryant Avenue in Laurel, police said. Eric Reed Capster, of the 2500 block of Spencerville Road, was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at Laurel Regional Hospital where he was taken by ambulance after the 2:45 p.m. accident, police said. Police said Mr. Capster was traveling west on Old Scaggsville Road when he failed to negotiate a slight curve.

A Dundalk man died Friday after the motorcycle he was operating struck a Dodge pickup truck turning in front of him, Baltimore County police report. The operator of the 1994 Suzuki Ninja motorcycle, Donald Gray Snyder 4 t h , 35, of the 1900 block of Searles Road, was northbound on Lynch Road when a southbound Dodge Ram began to turn left onto Diehlwood Road, police said. The motorcycle struck the right front wheel area of the truck, according to police. Snyder was in cardiac arrest when police and fire responded to the scene at 5:18 p.m., and was pronounced dead after being taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital.

A woman was killed when the motorcycle she was riding on collided with a boat trailer east of the Bay Bridge on Saturday night, police said. The accident caused the closure of both sides of the bridge, backing up traffic for miles. About 7:30 p.m., the driver of a motorcycle on which Laura Kristine Rindfuss, 29, of Annapolis was riding attempted to merge from the right shoulder onto westbound Route 50 before the bridge. The motorcycle struck a boat being towed by a Dodge truck, and the driver lost control of the motorcycle.

State police are searching for a motorcyclist who fled from the scene of a crash that killed one person in Howard County on Saturday. The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 95 just north of Route 100, where a group of six to eight motorcyclists had been driving recklessly at high speeds, according to police. The driver of a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R750, Wayne N. Thomas, 27, of the 4500 block of 24th Ave. in Mount Rainier, was pronounced dead at the scene. A preliminary investigation found that one of the motorcyclists in the group, Thomas, lost control and went off the left side of the roadway, striking the guardrail of the center median.

A motorcyclist was killed early yesterday in Pasadena when he was thrown from his vehicle and hit a tree. William Clyde Turner, 28, of the 1800 block of Fox Hollow Run was found dead about 100 feet from his 1996 Harley-Davidson Sportster by Anne Arundel County police Officer James Schreiber about 2:30 a.m., according to a police report. Earlier, Officer Joseph Larkin had reported seeing a motorcycle traveling west on Fort Smallwood Road at speeds of more than 100 mph. Larkin followed the motorcycle but lost track of it. Schreiber was helping Larkin search for the motorcyclist when he found Turner next to a tree along Fox Hollow Run off Fort Smallwood Road.

A 17-year-old boy was killed yesterday when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a truck in Clarksville, police said.Police said the teen, whose name was withheld, was riding a 1997 Honda motorcycle south in the 13100 block of Highland Road near Prestwick Drive about 7 p.m. when he veered to the left and slammed into the driver's side door of a 1991 Chevy Suburban driven by George L. Boarman, 44.Police said the teen was pronounced dead at the scene....

A 29-year-old Pocomoke City man was killed late Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle in Wicomico County, police said. Jason Alan Quarles was traveling south on the Route 13 bypass about 10:45 p.m., preparing to merge onto Route 13 north of Stockyard Road, according to officials from the Salisbury barracks of the Maryland State Police. As he was approaching a curve, Quarles lost control of his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, which fell onto the road, sending him about 100 feet into a guardrail.

A Waldorf man was injured Saturday night when his motorcycle swerved off the road and crashed into a utility pole in Deale, county police said.Robert John Peters, 39, of the 2600 block of Pinewood Drive was in serious condition at the Prince George's Hospital Center trauma unit, police said. He was riding his 1985 Harley Davidson FXE west on Deale Road about 11 p.m. when it veered off the road and crashed, police said.Police are investigating whether alcohol contributed to the accident. Mr. Peters was wearing a helmet, police said.

A New Windsor man died yesterday of injuries he suffered in an accident Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck on Route 407 in Carroll County. Stephen Edward Toop, 40, died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore yesterday afternoon, state police reported. Toop was driving a 1985 Harley-Davidson west on Route 407 near New Windsor about 5 p.m. when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 1981 GMC pickup truck driven by Lawrence Martin Beck, 53, of Baltimore, police said.
